Welcome back to the weekend, everyone! We hope the week has treated you well so far, but now it's time to kick back and play some games.

The past few days have been pretty nuts with the likes of Gears of War: E-Day launching into Xbox Game Pass and other general releases of Star Wars: Galactic Racer to crack on with. It's been good. But, if they're not to your liking, it's worth remembering the Free Play Days titles, as well as checking out all the best discounted games from the Seasonal Savings sale on the Xbox Store too.

So, let's get into it. Here's what we're playing on Xbox this weekend:

Craig Reid, Staff Writer

I'm away for most of this weekend. My wife and I are taking the dog on holiday to the Cotswolds. She's a good pup and totally deserves a nice adventure. All of this to say, I probably won't have time to play many games.

To be fair, I've played more Gears of War: E-Day over the past few weeks than I thought I would. So, that should more than make up for the lack of weekend gnashering. If I do get some time in, though, it'll likely be on my OG ROG Ally, which doesn't really handle Gears as well as I'd like.

So, instead it'll probably be a bit of Valheim, mixed in with either Minecraft Dungeons 2, Well Dweller, or End of Abyss. All should work wonderfully well on my ageing handheld device with god-awful battery life. My backup plan is to crack out the Switch 2 and continue with Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave.

Happy gaming, everyone!

My biggest two focuses at the moment are Gears of War: E-Day and Star Wars: Galactic Racer. I'm absolutely loving both of them, and to be honest they're more than enough to keep me busy until GTA 6 in November.

That said, I'm also playing an upcoming release that I can't talk about yet (but I've been pretty impressed with it), and I'm tempted to pick up Samson - A Tyndalston Story and see what all the fuss is about, both positive and negative.

Have a great weekend, folks!
