Worth keeping an eye on your "Offers & Credits"

In the lead-up to release for Gears of War: E-Day, you may have noticed that Xbox began running a promotional offer in some countries to entice people to pre-order, which included not only access to the open beta and a couple of skins, but a free Xbox Gift Card as well.

Here's some proof that this definitely happened!

Xbox obviously didn't want to give the free gift card to everyone immediately, because those buyers could have cancelled their pre-order as soon as they received it. Instead, they waited until a few months later to hand out the free gift cards, similar to what they've done with other games in the past such as Forza Horizon and 007 First Light.

Those gift cards have now begun to be sent out as of this week, with the folks at Info Xbox in Spain reporting that they've received theirs in the "Offers and Credits" section of their Xbox profile.

Again, here's the proof - you can see the gift card being available to claim as an "Active" offer in the image to the right. We'll drop the translation below, along with the original tweet in Spanish:

"You can now claim the gift card for pre-ordering Gears of War: E-Day on Xbox. Users who participated in the pre-order promotion can now obtain a $5 USD prepaid card from the Microsoft Store by going to Profile > Offers and credits. The balance can be used for purchases within the Xbox store and will be available until January 11, 2027."

Now, there's every chance they're only sending these out in specific regions for the time being, but if you want to check for your gift card, here's the easiest way to do it (on console, at least!):

Go to the Microsoft Store app on your Xbox console
Scroll over to the left-hand menu and then hover over your gamertag at the top
A "Profile" submenu should appear with "Offers & Credits" as one of the options
Go in there, and see if there's anything in the "Active" section to redeem

As far as we know, this offer doesn't include anyone who bought the Premium Upgrade version of Gears of War: E-Day, so you'll need to have either bought the Standard Edition or full-fat Premium Edition within the eligible pre-order window.

Let us know how you get on! It might be a while until everyone gets these codes, but even if there's nothing in your "Offers & Credits" section, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on it over the coming days and/or weeks.

Have you got anything yet? Did you take part in this promotion? Tell us in the comments down below.
