CD Projekt Red 确认真人《Cyberpunk 2077》电影不会复刻游戏剧情

CD Projekt Red has finally spoken up about the live-action Cyberpunk 2077 movie. The company said it doesn't want to do a 1:1 adaptation of the game, instead telling a new story within the same universe.
"At this point, we can only say that we definitely don't want to make a film adaptation of the game," co-CEO Michał Nowakowski told Polish outlet PAP Biznes, via GamesRadar. "We want to tell a story in the world of Cyberpunk, but it won't be a one-to-one translation of the game's story."

The Cyberpunk movie is being created in partnership with Parmount, now under the Skydance banner after the recent merger. The film will be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, of live-action Transformers fame.

Yeah, it was pretty obvious from the announcement that it would be the move as the Edgerunners anime, which is a much smarter choice.

That's good! Now the producer just needs to somehow break his losing streak

The anime also has an original story and worked pretty well, so I think this is the best move.

For the best I think. There's a wealth of possibilities in that universe, even though seeing live action Silverhand would have been cool.

The world of Cyberpunk is too vast and deep to keep telling the same stories over and over

As long as they don't tell the Sinnerman and The Passion of Joshua storyline or turn the setting into a "oh what wacky fun we have" clown show I don't really care that much.

Paramount huh, so Arasaka will be the good guys?

Why would Paramount make the Japanese company the good guys? Militech will be the good guys.
