Keep tabs on your disc to digital games

Xbox's disc to digital system has introduced a new feature that lets its users track whether a digital licence has been revoked from their account.

First spotted by XCT, the new feature can be accessed through the official Play.Xbox browser page, and navigated to through Settings > Manage Games > Disc to digital licence history.

"Games you no longer have access to through disc to digital licensing will be available here. This can happen when you have lost possession of the game discs."

Xbox's Disc-To-Digital programme is in full effect, with loads of physical disc-based games now allowing players to install digital licences, provided they retain the disc. If someone lends, sells or trades-in a game they've claimed a digital licence for, that licence is revoked from their account and transferred to the new owner when the disc is inserted into a new console under a different account.

"Without possession of the qualifying disc, you may lose the disc to digital licensing benefits. For example, if you lose, sell, give away, or otherwise no longer possess a qualifying disc, access to associated disc to digital licenses may be limited or revoked. If you lose access to your license, you will need to either regain possession of the disc and play it while signed into your account or purchase a new digital version from the Microsoft store"

If you're someone who regularly shifts physical Xbox games in and out of your library, I suppose the new disc to digital licence history will come in handy for you.
