After a delayed August launch, a charming PlayStation game is now available on the PlayStation Store. Developed by Sunny Labs and published by Silver Lining Interactive, The Witch’s Bakery launches on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC. Physical editions are available for $34.99.

The developers revealed that the release push from August to October came because they wanted a less crowded launch window.

The 2D adventure RPG follows a witch who opens a bakery in modern-day Paris. She uses her special ability to see into people’s hearts and heal the emotional scars they carry.

What makes The Witch’s Bakery’s magical world worth exploring

The Witch’s Bakery gameplay includes daily tasks split into three phases. During the Day, the witch, Lunne, serves patrons while managing her bakery. In the Evening, Lunne can explore Paris, build relationships, and discover hidden secrets. At Night, players can improve Lunne’s magic, decorate the bakery, and spend time in her atelier.

The gameplay will have players earn experience, money, and fame. They will also be encouraged to make new friends and heal their hearts with Lunne’s specific flavor of magic. Several districts in Paris will be open for the player to explore.

Lunne can also engage in new activities to learn new skills and acquire books using in-game currency to learn new recipes. One such area is “Le Quai des Bouquinistes,” which is known for its books, magazines, and entertainment options. Players can visit the location and even have a glimpse of the Notre Dame Cathedral.

The game also has levels called Heart Palaces. These are environments in the hearts of patrons and friends whose emotions are locked away. Heart Palaces also feature a personified version of the emotion, which Lunne will guide back to her friends’ hearts. The Heart Palace is also where the players can figure out the ingredient that they need to heal the emotional scars of the patrons.
