Battlefield 6 Season 5, titled Siege of Vegas, launches today, October 13, as update 2.1.1.0 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. EA calls it its biggest season yet, with two new maps, four weapons and a new REDSEC mode.

The first phase brings Vegas Strip and Area 51, both set in Nevada. A third map, European Casino, arrives in a later phase, and a December phase adds the server browser and platoons on December 8.

The four launch weapons are the Mk 24 assault rifle, RSPR personal defense weapon, Z84M light machine gun and ELR-40 bolt-action sniper rifle. A faster REDSEC battle royale mode, Rapid Royale, debuts on Vegas Strip and Mirak Valley, alongside a rework of REDSEC’s classes. Support gets the biggest overhaul.

Vehicle balance changes too. A 30 percent cut to 70mm FFAR rocket splash damage stops one-hit infantry kills at common distances, and the LTLM II laser designator now lasts two seconds instead of nine.

Dead Space Event and Free Trial

From October 20 to November 7, Dead Space returns in the Convergence Event, a 16-player PvE mode on Area 51 where players fight AI-controlled Marked Soldiers and try to destroy the Marker. Rewards include the Aegis VII soldier skin and the RIG-Certified SMG weapon package.

A Full Game Trial runs October 15 to 19 on PlayStation and Steam, with all maps and modes open. EA says the window may vary by platform. Anyone who bounced off the game earlier has a free week to decide whether a Vegas casino full of tanks changes their mind.

The patch notes also list a long run of bug fixes, including a minimap that no longer turns black and a spectator mode that remembers its last camera view. The full notes are on EA’s site.
