NVIDIA’s RTX 6060 Could Slip To 2029, Arriving Months After High-End RTX 60 Cards That Are Already Reportedly Pushed Back To 2028
The 60-class RTX 60 series GPUs may not end up on the shelves until 2029 as per the prominent leaker.
Kepler Expects RTX 6060 to Release Much Later and Will Likely be Slower than PlayStation 6
If you have been following the developments around the upcoming Rubin RTX 60 series GPUs, you must be aware that the GPU family has been reportedly delayed until 2028. According to various reports, both NVIDIA and AMD are unlikely to launch their next-gen GPU families in 2027, and except for a single mid-range RDNA 5-based SKU, we likely won't see more next-gen GPUs next year.
The one who reported this is now claiming that the slower SKUs will be launching even later. Prominent leaker Kepler_L2 responded in the Neogaf forums that the RTX 6060 will launch "much later", hinting that the 60-class GPUs will end up in the market closer to 2029. This shouldn't be surprising as NVIDIA usually follows the higher-end GPU launch with slower SKUs after several months.

There's roughly a 4-6 month gap between the 90 and 80 class GPUs and the 60-class cards. That said, if what the leaker says is true (meaning the RTX 6060 will launch much later), then we could see the RTX 6060 series launching in 2029 instead of 2028, provided NVIDIA launches the high-end RTX 60 GPUs around Mid-2028 or later. That said, the leaker also claims that he thinks the RTX 6060 will be slower than the PlayStation 6, the next-gen Sony console, which is reportedly bringing an RDNA 5 SoC.
So, for those who are still waiting for the next-gen budget class cards, they will have to wait around three years from now to get something like an RTX 6060. Given the current state of the market, we could see some changes in the timeline. The VRAM shortages and increased component costs have reportedly resulted in the cancellation of the RTX 50 "SUPER" series and have affected the availability of the existing SKUs.
The RTX 60 series has yet to be announced officially by NVIDIA, and there is still quite some time before NVIDIA does so. Therefore, take Kepler's information with a grain of salt, as nothing has been finalized.
