动视称任天堂全力支持 Switch 2 版《使命召唤:现代战争4》,欲拓展用户年龄层
Activision says Nintendo is “all in” on Call of Duty for Switch 2, Nintendo wants to “age up their customer”
Activision has shared a few comments about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare coming to Switch 2 as the series finally returns to Nintendo platforms.
For more than a decade, the series was absent on Nintendo systems. Call of Duty: Ghosts appeared on Wii U, and that was pretty much a wrap. Despite how successful Nintendo Switch was, Call of Duty had no presence on that console whatsoever.
Things are now finally changing. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is finally putting the franchise back on a Nintendo console. Activision chief marketing officer Tyler Bahl said in an interview with The Game Business that the company is “rebuilding this relationship.”
Speaking about Nintendo specifically, Bahl mentioned that the company “has been all in.” In fact, the two sides partnered on a marketing campaign. Also mentioned is that Nintendo wants “to age up their customer and want a broader spectrum by having a first-person shooter on there.”
Bahl’s full words:
“We’re rebuilding this relationship. Nintendo has been all in. We have a co-marketing campaign that we’ve launched with them. In a lot of ways, they want to age up their customer and want a broader spectrum by having a first person shooter on there. Their console sales grew to a certain point, but then stagnated, and this will allow them to extend the offering.
I see it as a companion experience. I have a Switch 2, I’m flying to London this afternoon, and I’ll bring my Switch 2 with me and can play Modern Warfare 4. That’s an awesome companion experience.
Nintendo’s been an amazing partner in co-marketing. I only see that relationship developing as we have future titles like Spyro coming back.”
Although these comments are positive, Bahl shared another statement that was a bit more controversial. He mentioned that GTA 6 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 are the biggest games of the year while adding, “no offense to Zelda”.
