LoL Patch 26.21 Champion Buffs

Riot is giving several champions more room to perform in Ranked. Azir’s buff focuses on mana management, while Ryze trades some early empowered Q damage for stronger late-game scaling. Sion’s changes lean into the payoff of landing a fully charged ultimate.

ChampionChanges
AzirMana growth: 40 → 50 per level.
DariusQ cooldown: 9–5 → 9–4 seconds.
Miss FortuneE damage: 70–190 (+120% AP) → 90–210 (+120% AP). R critical strike damage: 130% (+0.3% per 1% bonus critical strike damage) → 145% (+0.45% per 1% bonus critical strike damage).
NunuR maximum damage: 625/925/1275 (+300% AP) → 750/1100/1450 (+300% AP).
OriannaQ AP ratio: 55% → 60%. W AP ratio: 80% → 85%.
RyzeQ damage bonus against Flux-marked targets: 15/40/65/90% → 10/40/70/100%. Q bonus movement speed: 28/32/36/40/44% → 30/35/40/45/50%. W AP ratio: 60% → 70%.
SionHealth growth: 87 → 95. R damage increase over three seconds of channeling: up to +166.67% base damage and +100% ratio → up to +200% for both.
TaliyahE damage: 60–240 (+60% AP) → 70–250 (+70% AP). E detonation damage: 25–85 (+30% AP) → 30–90 (+30% AP).
Vel’KozPassive damage: 35–180 (+60% AP) → 35–205 (+65% AP).
Xin ZhaoQ damage per strike: 15–75 (+40% bonus AD) → 15–75 (+45% bonus AD). E attack speed scaling: 1% per 5% bonus attack speed → 1% per 4% bonus attack speed.
ZyraW seed recharge cooldown: 18–10 → 16–10 seconds.

Azir rarely buys a mana item, and Riot says regular players struggle with his mana management more than highly skilled players. The extra mana growth is aimed at easing that pressure.

Ryze’s changes shift some strength out of his early EQ damage and into his later stages. He gets a higher late-game Flux damage bonus, more movement speed, and stronger W scaling if he can get through lane.

Sion’s ultimate buff rewards landing a fully powered charge. Riot says it will monitor how much power the change adds.

Xin Zhao is getting help for attack-focused builds after Sundered Sky nerfs and repeated changes that also weakened his AP build.

LoL Patch 26.21 Champion Nerfs

The full preview targets 10 champions. Several changes focus on making weaknesses easier to punish, including Viktor’s mobility and shielding, Lee Sin’s mobility and reliable damage, and Tristana’s early attack speed.

ChampionChanges
CaitlynPassive Headshot damage: 60–100% AD → 60–80% AD. Its additional AD scaling per 1% critical strike chance and per 1% bonus critical strike damage both fall from 1% → 0.8%. Q base damage: 50–210 → 50–230.
JinxAD growth: 3.25 → 3. Base health: 630 → 610.
Lee SinW cooldown: 7 → 8 seconds. E bug fix: no longer reveals invisible enemies if they enter stealth after being hit by Tempest. R kick damage: 175–625 (+200% bonus AD) → 150–550 (+200% bonus AD). R collision damage: 175–625 (+200% bonus AD) (+12–18% of the kicked champion’s health) → 150–550 (+200% bonus AD).
NidaleeCougar W damage: 55–190 (+50% bonus AD) (+30% AP) → 50–170 (+50% bonus AD) (+30% AP). Human E attack speed: 30–70% → 20–60%.
QiyanaQ damage: 80–200 (+90% bonus AD) → 70–190 (+90% bonus AD).
RammusW bonus armor: 27–47 (+30–60% armor) → 25–45 (+30–50% armor). W bonus magic resistance: 20–40 (+30–60% MR) → 20–40 (+30–50% MR).
TristanaQ attack speed: 60–120% → 40–120%.
ViktorQ shield: 40–140 (+25% AP) → 30–130 (+20% AP). Base movement speed: 335 → 330.
WukongHealth regeneration per five seconds: 3.5 (+0.65 per level) → 5.5 (+0.65 per level). Passive armor per stack: 6–10 → 4.5–10.
YoneQ damage: 25–125 (+110% AD) → 25–125 (+105% AD).

Caitlyn’s Burst Shifts Toward Q

Riot wants to reduce how much burst Caitlyn can deliver with little warning. Some power is moving out of Headshot and into Q, giving opponents a clearer attack to react to and making Q more worthwhile later in the game.

Viktor Keeps His Long-Range Poke

Riot wants to preserve Viktor’s long-range poke because it is a core part of what his players enjoy. Instead, the nerfs reduce his shielding and movement speed, making his vulnerability to ganks and difficulty moving around the map more noticeable.

Lee Sin Loses Mobility and Ultimate Damage

Lee Sin’s W cooldown increases by one second, while his ultimate loses damage on both the kicked target and enemies hit by the collision. Riot wants more of the ultimate’s value to come from repositioning enemies.

Tristana’s Early Attack Speed Takes a Hit

Tristana’s rank-one Q attack speed falls from 60% to 40%, while its maximum-rank value stays unchanged. Riot specifically highlights her level-one strength and synergy with Lethal Tempo, saying it wants successful aggressive play to rely more on committing with Rocket Jump.

LoL Patch 26.21 Item Changes

Dawncore receives a stronger AP conversion from mana regeneration, while Gluttonous Greaves becomes more expensive. Bastion Breaker loses combat stats and some Shaped Charge damage in exchange for a much longer Sabotage duration. Hubris receives separate changes for melee and ranged champions.

ItemChanges
DawncoreAP per 100% base mana regeneration: 10 → 15.
Bastion BreakerLethality: 22 → 18. Melee Shaped Charge damage: 50 (+1.5 per lethality) → 40 (+1.5 per lethality). Ranged Shaped Charge damage: 25 (+0.75 per lethality) → 20 (+0.75 per lethality). Sabotage duration: 90 → 25,000 seconds.
Gluttonous GreavesTotal cost: 1,000 → 1,100 gold.
HubrisBase bonus AD: 12 → 15 for melee champions and 10 for ranged champions. Bonus AD per stack: 3 → 3 for melee champions and 2 for ranged champions.

Bastion Breaker Gets an Effectively Permanent Sabotage Duration

The preview lists Sabotage’s duration as increasing from 90 seconds to 25,000 seconds, which is effectively permanent within a normal match. Phroxzon describes the intended change as an infinite duration.

Riot wants the item’s strategic effect to carry more of its value. That should make its structure-focused utility more satisfying while allowing the team to reduce its raw combat strength.

Hubris Buffs Melee Users and Nerfs Ranged Users

Melee champions gain a higher starting bonus of 15 AD, while their three AD per stack stays unchanged. Ranged champions drop to 10 starting bonus AD and two AD per stack.

This gives melee users a stronger starting payoff while reducing both the initial bonus and scaling for ranged users. The current combination of champion-killing power and wider map impact is considered too strong.

LoL Patch 26.21 Champion Adjustments

Locke and Varus receive the largest adjustments, while Taric, Twisted Fate, and Zaahen get targeted functionality changes and bug fixes. Renekton no longer appears in the full preview’s adjustment list.

Locke

Riot wants Locke’s mistakes to carry more risk, particularly when he spends mana poorly or misuses W. The changes are intended to be relatively power neutral overall, while encouraging E as his second ability to max and rewarding E1 hits.
