Xbox Game Pass 据称将再次改版

It’s been almost a decade since Microsoft first launched its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, and over the years we’ve seen the platform change quite a bit on multiple occasions – for better and for worse. Despite having already announced some pretty big adjustments earlier this year, Microsoft is reportedly once again planning to overhaul Xbox Game Pass, letting players pick what services they want ‘à la carte’.

As reported by the publication Fortune, Microsoft is “planning a major overhaul of Game Pass” which will see its current tiered structure revamped to offer greater flexibility with regard to what exact services you are paying for.

Under this new system, subscribers will reportedly be able to “choose features à la carte, including add-ons for console-only games, cloud gaming, and multiplayer.”

In its current state, Game Pass is available in 3 (technically 4) forms:

• Essential (£6.99/month)
• Premium (10.99/month)
• Ultimate (£16.99/month)
• PC (£10.99/month)

The upper tiers in particular include a bunch of extra services which many may not be making use of, such as longer cloud streaming, increased reward points, the inclusion of Ubisoft+ and the like.

Of course, the success of this revamp will all depend on how Microsoft chooses to price each of its services. Those who make use of all of its offerings might end up paying more than the current maximum. On the flipside, those who only care about online multiplayer may end up saving money. We will have to wait and see exactly how this new Game Pass winds up shaking out.
