Story Highlight
- Resident Evil Code Veronica is reportedly set to receive post-launch story DLC.
- The expansion is planned to be similar to Capcom’s story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem.
- An insider says that the gaming giant is focusing on DLC to make up for the upcoming gap in Resident Evil’s pipeline.
Capcom is hard at work on Resident Evil Veronica right now, a remake of the spin-off Code Veronica. The title is said to have experienced a delay recently, but more interestingly, Capcom seems to already be planning DLC for this remake.
As stated by a prominent insider, Resident Evil Veronica will receive a major story expansion.
Why it matters: Capcom seems to have developed an interest in post-launch content for its titles, so this may become standard for Resident Evil moving forward.
As reported by Dusk Golem via Twitter, Capcom is planning story DLC for Resident Evil Veronica.
The insider notes that Capcom decided to greenlight this DLC to provide fans with a consistent stream of Resident Evil content. Following the Code Veronica remake, the series may slow down with its releases.
Note that Capcom has released Resident Evil titles at a consistent pace over the last few years, but the team could be looking at slowing down now. This is exactly why an expansion for Resident Evil Requiem is also said to be in the works and is expected to launch in early 2027.

The insider expects the expansion to last a few hours, so it remains to be seen exactly what Capcom has planned for the two titles.
