The 9800X3D is only 8 cores, yet is still the champion of gaming. Will games ever use more than 6-8 cores for gaming? I have a 5950X here, and it wont perform as well in gaming as a 9800X3D because ~~the 9800X3D IPC is higher~~ games can't use more than 6 or 8 cores. So, my CPU is up to the task, but I guess the task isn't up to it? It's not my CPUs fault that the software can't tap in to the extra resources. When (if ever) will games start to use CPUs beyond 8 cores? Or will 8 cores always be king in gaming?
