Sega cuts Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds price and lines up Godzilla, Evangelion and Midgar packs
Sega has set out its Year Two plans for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The base game and its digital deluxe edition are getting permanent price cuts, and a fresh run of six paid crossover packs begins with Godzilla on 3 November 2026. The roadmap also adds a head-to-head Duel Mode and a free Bayonetta content drop.
Access to the paid content comes through Season Pass Two, priced at $29.99. Sterling pricing and the exact size of the reductions to the base and deluxe editions were not included in the details reported so far.
The Godzilla Pack opens the season. It adds a Godzilla Escape course and machines modelled on Godzilla, King Ghidorah and Mothra. Evangelion follows in January 2027.
The rest of 2027 is mapped out by quarter. Virtual Sanrio Puroland, which brings Hello Kitty and friends to the track, is due in Q2. Two packs share Q3: SEGALAND, a nod to Sega’s retro catalogue, and a Final Fantasy 7 crossover listed under the working title Midgar Pack. The season closes in Q4 with the Reload Revival Royal Pack, drawn from the Persona series.
Duel Mode strips races down to one rival. A Duel Boost gauge charges over time and through item use, then releases bursts of speed. Players can also see what their opponent is carrying, including items and gadgets, and where they sit on the track.
Four formats are planned for the mode. These are CPU Rival Duels, open online matchmaking, limited-time best-of-10 events and custom races set up with friends. That spread gives solo players and online regulars their own routes into it.
Gadget tinkerers get something too. A new Grand Master Plate unlocks a seventh Super Slot reserved for one-slot gadgets, boosting the strength of their enhanced effects. It should open up new loadout options for players who have settled on a fixed build during the first year.
The Bayonetta drop sits outside the season pass and costs nothing, so owners of the base game can pick it up without buying into the paid roadmap. Insider Gaming was among the outlets reporting the full plan.
For anyone who skipped CrossWorlds at launch, the permanent discount and the Godzilla date make early November the obvious point to jump in, with the first paid pack arriving on 3 November.
