There are only a few people worthy enough to wield Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer, in the Marvel multiverse. A neat detail in Fortnite is that lore carries over to the game. If you aren’t wearing a skin that is considered worthy, then Mjolnir can’t be equipped as your pickaxe.

Only Five Skins Are Worthy Enough To Lift Fortnite's Mjolnir

Of the thousands of skins added to Fortnite, only five can be equipped with Mjolnir, and three of them are just different versions of Thor. No one has been added to that list since Moon Knight made it five when his skin was added in 2022. However, Fandom's Fortnite Wiki has some fans believing that Freddy Fazbear has been deemed worthy enough to wield the hammer of Thor.

A screenshot from the Fortnite Wiki’s Worthy Outfits page has gone viral since it now includes three Thors, Moon Knight, Captain America, and Freddy. I checked the page myself, and Freddy really is on there. An historic moment for not just Fortnite, but also Marvel. As demonstrated by the limited number of Worthy skins, not to mention the movies and decades of comics, Marvel doesn’t let just anyone lift Mjolnir. Especially not animatronic bears from an entirely different franchise.

Unfortunately, even though it remains unaltered, the page seems to be inaccurate. Not only are there no details explaining why Freddy has been added to the Worthy roster, but players have been putting the claim to the test and sharing evidence that, much like almost every other skin in the game, a pop-up informs them that Freddy is not worthy enough to wield Mjolnir when you try to equip him with the Thor-themed pickaxe.

Freddy Almost Certainly Isn't Worthy After All

There are a couple of screenshots that show Freddy holding the hammer while not in a match, but in the locker where you choose your skin, axe, and other cosmetic options. What seems to have been cropped out of those screenshots is the message at the bottom of the screen informing the player that they’re trying to pair the hammer with a skin that isn’t worthy.

Despite the mistake, claims that Freddy might be an Avenger-level threat sparked theories as to why he might be allowed to lift Mjolnir. The most convincing argument likens Freddy to Vision, who is capable of lifting the hammer in the MCU. Because Vision isn’t technically a living thing, the worthiness scale doesn’t apply to him. Since Freddy is an animatronic, the same logic should apply to him too.

If that logic is applied to Fortnite, then Sonic’s skin should be worthy too since Sega has made it very clear that version of the character is an android replica. That’s why it can fire a gun since it technically isn’t the real Sonic. Take note, Nintendo.

As for why Fandom's Fortnite Wiki claims Freddy has been added to Fortnite’s Worthy Outfits page remains unclear. Fans who pushed for the Wiki to leave Fandom behind will likely be feeling pretty good about doing so right about now, though.

Fans launched their own Fortnite Wiki, separate from the Fandom-powered one, earlier this year. They cited intrusive ads, poor mobile integration, and ironically, a lack of freedom when it comes to editing as some of the reasons for the split. Now it seems the Fandom Wiki is the erroneous one, while the new standalone Fortnite Wiki just lists the five confirmed Worthy Outfits.
