Who's up for a joyride?

The mobile gacha otome game Love and Deepspace launched 18th Jan 2024 and so is now having its second birthday. Personally I've only been playing since 5th September 2025, but if anything happened to LaD, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.

It released with the three companions Xavier, Zayne and Rafayel. (I like to call them the starter Pokemon.) A bit later Sylus and then Caleb joined the club, and there's a placeholder for a sixth character.

Alongside the anniversary event the last big update 5.0 added Housing to the game, letting you decorate your own villa and garden to hang out with him, with a shitton of stuff to do. In short: The Sims.

Like the market for pandering to men with cute anime girls is extremely oversaturated at this point. It just seems like a smart business move to make your game stand out. And judging by their revenue it's been working out for them.

It's 99 I think, but you need to click more actually, cause it only counts, when they react to it specifically. (Uh, a friend told me...)

Outfits can be unlocked, yes. But the main draw is the story, that comes along with the card. Every card unlocks a VN style story.
Sometimes there are also special myths cards, that unlock a new (stronger) combat version of them. Alongside a special appereance. Those are pretty important for late game. Sadly super hard to obtain, if you don't want to spend (much) real money.

I really like the approach that they get lots of depth PER character, but yeah I'm surprised by a 2nd anni they've only added one new fella. :O

Some interactions are stupid, but others are legit the cutest shit ever.
Although I think, they are too same for all characters actually, with only little individuality in some cases. Could be more, imo.
Funnily enough, I always thought of playing Sims, but in the end never did. Until they put it into LaD. lol

I have no clue honestly and can only say, I was legit shocked, we got Housing instead of the sixth one. I would have bet money on it, just because.
Sylus and Caleb got added with 6 months in between give or take, so now a whole year without the next seems odd, given the placeholder already being there.
Personally speaking, while I'm curious what/who the sixth would be, I don't think, the game needs to expand the cast all that much and It might also not be really feasible in the long run, given the nature of the game.

Story bits. Dates, so to say.
The basics are like this: You have a main story with a certain main plot. It is the groundwork for the whole setting and how MC gets to know the guys. You unlock the companions as playable and, well date-able, through playing the main story.
4 and 5 star cards unlock story bits, flashing out her relationship with the corresponding guy. 5 stars have a visual novel style story part with a special cutscene (the kindle part).
So in short, you pull on events because you want to have the story, the event exclusive 5* card unlocks. While pulling, you unlock certain accessoires and outfits exclusive to the event.
The shitton of other cosmetics, the game has to offer, are either obtained through different free ingame currencies or the game's paid currency. Sometimes you can also buy outfits directly with real money, but that is more an exception.

There are special myth versions of every character from a previous life/different universe/alternate timeline/whatever. For example the last one, that gave the game a revenue of 80 mill, was Vampire Sylus.
The special catch here is, that you need to obtain both cards, to make the myth version of him playable. They also give an exclusive weapon for your MC. The myth characters are stronger than their normal combat versions and apparently needed for late game Open Orbit figths.
Outside of that, you don't pull on weapons, but your MC has 4 different weapons you can choose from by default.

After emptying the event shop, exchanging the remaining event currency into Linkon money always feels like:

Granted, as a still relatively new player I haven't had too many events, and it's only the second multi-banner for me, but I find them to be always great fun. So much work went into the design and little stories, and I enjoy the mini-games too. Really loved the figure-skating one for this event. Also liking the Throne of Eros music, have it running in the cafe these days actually.
Still, if I have to choose, I'd rank Polar Night higher. Mostly because the event cutscenes left a bigger impression on me.
Speaking about multi-banners in general, I really like how they take one theme for all cards, but tweak it to fit the guys' different personalities.

Started playing this yesterday and already in love with my boys. Finding out the event was ending in 36 hours after I started playing was a bit of a bummer. Did some pulls on the banner and got nothing so that sucks. Got Sylus on my beginner banner which I love him already, but I haven't unlocked any of the interaction stuff with him yet. I guess I need to progress in the story?

I really liked the event, and while I still need to actually do a lot of decoration the home feature is super neat and I'm surprised just how much there is in it. So cool they actually went for it. Also I'm glad Lemonette's trove is a permanent weekly. I've already got lucky with a couple of things I wanted. Love the outfits on all the characters but I wish we could have a version of Raf's without the hood, it looks so good!

Not like great music is anything new for the game but this track is so good. Wild to me that it was left from the latest drop.

You do, though if you really want him early you can select 'Long Awaited Revelry' within the Story to skip ahead! You can set it to Auto and 2x and just not look as it works through it. Think you need to get to 1-9 on it to unlock him. That way you won't spoil the story, though you'll get texts from him that'll probs reference things that might not make much sense. Can ignore them as well if you want to still do the story blind though.

Been playing since launch, Raf main and Sylus sub. I've been so busy lately I haven't been able to do the latest event. I think I'll just wait until it's over to start again because I don't want to get all FOMO and do dumb things like draining my dias when I should be saving for a Raf myth.

Anyway, wish gaming on my phone was more comfortable. Or this would come to PC damn it.

A lot of my friends are insanely horny for these guys. I can't tell which ones. I can't fathom how much money they spend on them. And I play like three gachas daily, so who am I to judge? Oooh, welcome to the game! My first day of playing was Zayne's birthday. How are the odds?! ^^
On one hand, I absolutely loved it form the start. It was way better than I ever imagined it to be (and it has any right to be.) On the other hand, since it's my first gacha game, I was constantly overwhelmed and confused by everything and hated it. lol

I started playing for Sylus myself, and he's my fav by a mile. Zayne got a special place in my heart quickly, and Rafayel grew on me over time. Making him turn around in the cafe with his pouting might be the cutest thing ever. ^^

To just expand a little on what Kyuuji already said; you unlock them through the main story. First Xavier, then Zayne, then Rafayel. It goes relatively quickly and is pretty much the tutorial. After that, all chapters of the main story will unlock and you can skip ahead, if you want to. If you check the Orbit Fight overview, you can see what exact chapter unlocks them.

Dang, that card looks fun af. Too bad I'm too broke. Had hoped for a Xavier solo next, so I have more time to refill my dias. Although not that it would have changed much anyway. With how expensive pulling on events is and as a mainly f2p player, I'm forced to skip constantly anyway. I'm floating the idea of mainly pulling on multi-banners and a Sylus solo if I deem the card worthy. For everything else Youtube it is. .__.
I'm curious to know, why MC feels the need to hide there. No real reason for her to avoid getting seen by third party, since knowing Zayne shouldn't get her impeached, contrary to Sylus.
But wait a sec, I could really see this as something Sylus would do. Hide her badly there, mocking and teasing, on the brink of revealing her just for shits and giggles. Damn, the jokes write themselves.
E: nvm, I'm just dumb. Rewatching the trailer properly and it's basically self-explanatory. But similar to Raf's solo card a bit ago, this shady story could easily be rewritten for Sylus. ^^

Those are really neat pics. I got myself the red moon background a while ago and was a bit bummed out by it, because the moon is in the foreground instead of behind the characters. So you have to completely turn the camera around and turn it upwards, to even get the moon in the picture, having them also stand in the shadow. It pretty much ruined every pose for me. I'm not too much of a photo-mode person in general, tbh.

That Caleb card is sooo unhinged, I laughed my ass off! Those bitemarks all over and MC feeling him up like a boss had me howling.
The naked-with-apron-on joke is lame imo, but still I would have loved that shit with Zayne. Somehow it works well with him in my head.

Also started late last year, and I'm all in on Sylus main. I have all six of his myth cards now.

I also really like the home/Sims they added, but I'm kind of waiting for the second floor to unlock before doing any major ~renos.

I ended up doing this after seeing I would need to wait like a week or so to get there naturally. I just put it on auto turned the volume off and walked away.

Ooops. I tend to put all flower stuff into the shared box. Then I wanted to make an arrangement myself and wondered, where all the foliage had gone. So I went to the shop and bought a bunch. When I put it into the shared box, I realized, all the previous foliage was still in MC's pocket. Now I'm drowning in that shit...

Putting it on in Home is a good idea. I have it in the cafe right now, cause I like it so much as well. But it's a bit too distracting and unnerving in the long run with it running for everything, especially when reading in the socials. I tend to turn the volume down after a while.
It even played when I had a phone call form Sylus today, and it was so not fitting.
I have to try, if Home works better for me.

Was watching a Netflix reality show dubbed (the bf is blind in one eye and struggles keeping up with subtitles) and had my head turned away for a second when I heard Raf's voice. How am I so certain? The heart did the ドキドキ of recognition lolol

I would like him to keep voicing Raf so I don't want to share specifics to have someone else confirm but I also thought it was funny that my heart skipped a beat hearing his voice outside of the game lmao

Watched Zayne's event card on YT. The logic isn't always sound as usual, but it's a decent watch and the kindle part is funny.

I have the opposite problem, that I would want to try out more stuff, but missing the space. For example I'd love to put the canvas up for Rafayel and just can't find a good spot. Maybe I'll just put it out in the garden for now.
I also shuffeled the stuff in the Work Out room around a bit. I have now two treadmills and two punching bags next to each other, so that he and MC could exercise the same thing together. I'm still not quite satisfied though. I need a bigger room. <.<

Playing in English, and the best voice to my ears is Sylus's. He could read me the fucking phone book and I would gladly listen to it day in, day out. I have a handful of voicelines of him fav'ed.

For the life of me I couldn't figure out, why Zanye wouldn't touch a flower and it didn't count as doing an arrangement with him. But the moment I took a step back, he wanted to do an arrangement for MC alone. No, stupid. Not like this! I used up all my cuts and vases and rage quit.

That's also a cute idea! When I placed lights behind the bar I could only turn on one, despite everything being identical. For the other, the game kept telling me, the interaction was blocked. I joked maybe she's too short and can't reach it, so I asked Sylus to turn it on. And sure enough, he did without problems! I hugged him as a thank you.

Btw, when I googled my Zayne-flower-arrangement problem, I found someone desperate to get him to gift them an arrangement. So they trapped him in a corner behind the flower bench. Maybe you can try that with Sylus too?

Personally, I'd say the former.
Over time you'll get a decent amount of cards for everyone, through the normal well with blue tickets as well as the Galaxy. There is no real need to stress over specifics imo.
Depending on the fight, you are free to choose the companion. So it would make sense to take the one, with matching cards for the fight. But you could also brute force, if you want to.
If you are doing the Orbit fights locked to certain characters, you are automatically forced to level them to some degree. Personally I'm doing those for everyone for the rewards, but it is not something you need to do.
It does help to have everyone leveled a bit, so you can choose the perfect match freely. There is also the Hunter Contest, forcing you to form three teams.
Maybe it will change later into the game, but especially in the beginning, I don't see any reason not to throw everything on everyone to have a good group to choose from. There is no need to focus on just one.

For events, this is the complete opposite though. It's so expensive, you are forced to pick your battles. Only pull, if you really want that story.

I personally started with bringing up Zayne and Raf cards, but have basically dropped everyone for all in on Sylus lol. You've unfortunately missed his somewhat recent rerun of his dragon myth, and his first run of his vampire myth, but you can get his "standard" one from the regular wishes.

So for me, I started doing Zayne, Raf, and Sylus as three "teams", but since I have the three myth companions for Sylus now, I have a pink core team (Sylus' standard myth), a green core team (dragon), and a blue core team (vampire).

But as Oinone mentioned—if you want to do all of their open orbits, you'll want to level the rest of the guys eventually. It just takes a while to get level up materials haha. I'm currently trying to get all of my Sylus myths to 80 and the amount of the pink/green/blue materials I need is staggering.

I agree, at least in terms of pulling. You can level others as needed, but if you like one guy specifically, save pulls for that guy. Like, I only really pull for Sylus cards haha.

But you do get a lot of the standard cards for other guys, so it's not impossible to make multiple teams.

Put the canvas into the garden for Rafayel, and sure enough he's hogging it ever since - even when it snows. The bathroom is free! My water bill is saved!

With my slow playstyle, I'm doing okay most of the time, but I just blew all my crystal boxes to get both my event cards high up to take advantage of the payback. And as luck will have it, I'm also shuffeling around my normal deck for all of them, what means leveling some cards up from scratch. I've been mostly grinding recently, and it's so tiresome. @.@
