What is YOLO in Modern Warfare 4?
YOLO in Modern Warfare 4 is a new difficulty mode that ups the ante significantly, giving you just one life to complete the entire campaign.
Unlike the traditional modes, where dying restarts you from the last save point, dying in YOLO is the end of the line, requiring you to restart the entire campaign from scratch.
It’s not just limited to deaths either, as failing objectives, shooting civilians, straying too far from your squad, or accidental friendly fire will also spark the full reset.
Some exclusive rewards await those mad enough to complete it, but the difficulty curve is very, very high.
How to Unlock YOLO in Modern Warfare 4
YOLO mode in Modern Warfare 4 is not immediately available, and instead only becomes a selectable option when the full campaign is completed on Realism difficulty.
Further complicating the matter is that Realism is only unlocked once the campaign has been completed on any difficulty level, which means you need to complete the campaign twice before YOLO becomes available.
Once unlocked, you can dive into a YOLO attempt at any point, but unlike other modes, you cannot select a particular mission. So, there’s no jumping into your favorites and ticking them off one-by-one in any order you like.
Instead, every attempt begins right at the start of the MW4 campaign, and any deaths or failures that would usually put your back at the last checkpoint instead send you right back to the beginning.
