Magneto to Take Center Stage in Prestige Series by Bendis and Sorrentino
Brian Michael Bendis、Andrea Sorrentino 与 Dave Stewart 将推出 8 期精装漫画《Magneto: End of Days》，深入描绘漫威角色万磁王的过往。该系列定于 2027 年 2 月 3 日发售，每期从万磁王人生不同节点展开，并紧接 2026 年 12 月电影《Avengers: Doomsday》后推出。
Writer Brian Michael Bendis, artist Andrea Sorrentino, and colorist Dave Stewart are teaming up for an eight-issue prestige-format comic series, Magneto: End of Days, which will delve into the past of the Marvel character whose comics career spans over 60 years. Each issue of the series will start at a different point in Magneto’s life, offering insights into his past that explain his actions in the near future. The series will launch on February 3, 2027, with a main cover by Sorrentino and variants by Alex Maleev, Jerome Opena, and Netho Diaz, with more to be announced.
The new series will come shortly after Magneto’s appearance in Avengers: Doomsday, where he will be portrayed by Ian McKellen (see “‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Cast Revealed”). The film is set to premiere in December 2026.
“Magneto is one of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s best creations,” Bendis said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “I’ve been able to write this character over the years in books like House of M, Avengers Vs. X-Men, and Uncanny X-Men, and I’ve loved every second of it,. This time, we’re going to delve into his world in very curated unique chapters from every era of the Marvel Universe.”
“I’m drawing one of the most popular and beloved comic characters, who has been penned and drawn by some of the best artists in the industry, but that encourages me to try to experiment with layouts and find new ways to show put his powers and personality on the page,” Sorrentino added.
Dark Horse will release a collection of classic Magneto stories in December (see “Dark Horse Announces Two Marvel Archival Collections”).
