GamesBeat has just dropped a bomb, stating in a freshly published article that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive are planning to launch GTA 6's PC version in Q1 2027. The publication cites four well-connected industry sources familiar with the developer's and publisher's plans, although, of course, they spoke only on condition of anonymity.

If confirmed, this would be the quickest console-to-PC port Rockstar has released in a long, long time. Here's how its biggest releases since GTA IV (except Max Payne 3, which was a nearly simultaneous release) have fared:

Grand Theft Auto IV launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in April 2008, reaching PC in December 2008, about seven months later.
L.A. Noire debuted on consoles in May 2011 and arrived on PC in November 2011, roughly six months later.
Grand Theft Auto V launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013, but PC players had to wait until April 2015, around a year and a half later.
Red Dead Redemption 2 debuted on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2018, and reached PC in November 2019, just over a year later.

With GTA 6 launching on consoles on November 19, a Q1 2027 PC release would mean a gap of roughly two to four months, noticeably shorter than any of these titles.

To be fair, we did get some previous hints from prominent industry figures. Back in February 2025, Corsair Gaming CEO Andrew Paul told investors that they expected GTA 6 to drop in 'early 2026'. Granted, that was when the release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 was still targeting Fall 2025; the game took one more year to be completed, but the timeline still fits. More recently, VGC's Andy Robinson also claimed on the VGC podcast that the rising console prices were pressuring Rockstar to get it out earlier than usual.

2027 is also the target launch window for GTA 6's online multiplayer, at least according to Twitch CEO Dan Clancy. Many have been wondering if the PC version and the multiplayer launches will coincide, but that remains to be seen.
