The Legend Of Zelda movie character descriptions from what I was lucky enough to see (no images)
目击者描述《塞尔达传说》电影剧照角色:Link旧衣持Master Sword、换装后更自信,Ganondorf疑似曾为Hylian army高阶士兵。该描述称此Ganondorf设定未在任何游戏探索过,发帖未附图片。
Hey all,
I'm not sharing this for internet/forum clout. Just a lifelong nerd of Zelda who luckily got a chance to see some movie stills and are extremely happy with the direction and wanted to share what I saw. You don't have to believe me. No harm.
I briefly describe (I will not post images for obvious reasons) what I saw in the spoiler section so as to avoid anyone accidently seeing it.
WARNING: There is a potential new twist regarding Ganon that has not been explored in any of the games in my description below.
Characters:
and the
I saw a few more shots of link in his worn old tunic that really show they picked the right cast in looking the part. His facial expression look like he is going to be a fish out of water once he sets on the adventure. The type of hero that still manages to be optimistic no matter how bad things look. That's the vibe I got from his character. In shots of him wielding the Master Sword and fresh tunic, he looked more confident and determined.
I was impressed by what I saw, but that is just me and so it is subjective. But as a fan, I am smiling ear to ear in seeing how Zelda is translating to the big screen visually.
I'll try to answer any questions as best as I can. I had not see anything on the other characters yet!
p.s. apologies for the grammar. I typed things out in a flurry trying to accurately remember what I saw.

Where did you see these?
And what is the new take on Ganon that hasn't been done before in a game? It was hard to tell from the description.

I think
he thinks the implication is he was part of the Royal guard/directly working under the king in the past

Apologies for the grammer.
The new take is that he seems to have been in the Hylian army as a high ranking soldier due to his armor looking more ornate.
Link speaks?
I would assume so! lol

Hopefully Zelda having had so many art styles have prepared the fanbase not to be too hostile to any changes. But who am I kidding
Sounds real to me. Great descriptions. If what you saw is accurate, sounds like an interesting visual direction.
Would you be will to describe what you saw to our sketch artist to help form a graphic composite?

Someone here said they should've done a Star Wars: Visions-style anthology series with each episode animated by a different studio. That way, they could've gotten Cartoon Saloon to do one.
If this description is accurate, I think the implication is that Ganondorf has been integrated into the king's army. Could be like a coalition of forces, and at this point Ganondorf and the Gerudo have joined that coalition. Could explain the armor.
It would be a different depiction, but it could still follow the idea of Ganondorf getting close to the royal family so he can betray them.
i mean, doesn't ganondorf attack and destroy hyrule castle in the past while masquerading as a loyal subject to the king, in OoT?

Yup he did that in TOTK as well
The royal family should really leave a note for future generations:
"If a charming and well-hydrated man from the desert tries to el suavamente his way into the castle, please tell him to take a hike"

He coveted that power, I suppose
Ten bucks says they're not going to successfully get away from the racist implications of Ganondorf and the Gerudo

What? Not my Nintendo?
I think that as long as the forest people and the kingdom folk are not uniformly white they might just be ok.

they do, but only in ancient hyrulean tablets floating in geosynchronous orbit

Here we go again

That would give a more believable varity to things!
I imagine it will be a very affectionate depiction of the Gerudo. Ganondorf may be evil, but his people are good and their culture has incredible art and architecture, engineering feats, etc. Heck, if it's like BotW and TotK, they will be more impressive than the rest of the kingdom.
Only mistake the Gerudo made was allowing the one dude born every 100 years to automatically rule by birthright. In fairness to them, that's not an issue they would have to address often, lol.

I really hope they take the route in that Ganondorf isn't evil just to be evil, but has different world view on things where it seems more noble from his perspective.

That would also be great. Take a cue from Wind Waker and make his intentions noble, at least before the power trip goes to his head.
Or make it a Walter White situation where he tells himself he's doing it for others, but he later admits it was really his ego.
Oh snap, all this Gerudo talk got me thinking:
Surfing with sand seals... could be our podracing moment!
This all sounds very promising!
I would really love to see those images.

I mean he really has to say the line in the movie. It's an instant failure if he doesn't.
I assume all the non-humans are CG characters? Is Ganon live action? Seemed like there was a chance he would be performance capture as well considering who is making it.
I have already made peace with the fact that a) I will watch this movie in theatres and b) I won't like it.
Interested to see that Rito are in. I thought this might be a more nostalgic 'things that people vaguely remember about Zelda' vibe, so I wasn't sure if they'd make that cut.

The Wild era IS Zelda to a lot of people, & Wind Waker is nostalgic at this point.

They got an actor with the right build and stature to do Ganondorf practically
Man I can't wait for the trailer.

Yeah I do know what you mean, but I think there's also that audience that knows Link, Zelda, Ganon, the fairy fountain song, 'It's dangerous to go alone' etc. I mean the 'princess is in another castle' level of Zelda knowledge.

Maybe. I imagine they would hire someone of that stature for performance capture (or CG augmentation) as well. I'm probably wrong, but just curious.

Looking at how era reacts to the Mario movies referencing stuff, they will certainly upset era.
Not that I dont approve that, mind you, lol.
Thank you for sharing! I'm even more excited for a trailer.
It's pretty cool that we are getting pretty much all the various races from Hyrule, if all of these designs are used in the film.

Ganon is human. His actor was announced already! All the other characters are cg it seems. I haven't seen anything "practical" yet.

Sure thing and I am even more excited for it. I would now love to see a game approach this style of realistic designs for Zelda. Everything with more realistic proportions and practical looking clothes, tools and weapons.

Yea this movie feels like it will be an amalgamation of all more modern mainline Zelda games starting with Ocrina of time and onward.

Yea and I am liking how he looks in Gannondorf form. Again, its much different from what we are used to seeing except for his red hair and forehead jewel piece.

Modern like "modern art."

Yes, this!

I don't think he ever even implies his intentions were noble. Only that he "coveted" the Triforce's power.

Does that make BotW the first post-modern Zelda?

lol! same here
Ok, the descriptions sound so detailed I'm willing to believe them. At least from an aesthetic perspective, it sounds like the movie will deliver.
Hopefully Nintendo and/or Sony will finally release the first teaser soon.

Yes.
The story for him has always been about chasing power.
What I was suggesting is that it could be cool to have him chase that power in order to use it for what he believe is "good" or "noble". Something like lifting his people out of some form of oppression or lower class citizenship that has seen the Gerudo people treated like crap throughout generations by the royal Hylians.
This may be too deep for Zelda, but hey its a movie so why not. lol.

What was the tone of the stills you saw? Did it look cheap? Cheap CGI, sets, etc. Did it look similar to something like Lord of the Rings, or another film?
