Dark fantasy roguelite action RPG Ember & Blade will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on January 8, 2027, developer LINE Games Corporation announced. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions will follow alongside the full release. A “Demo 2.0” is available now for PC.

In Ember and Blade, death is only the beginning. Players take control of Fenrix, a cursed immortal trapped in an endless cycle of death and rebirth, and descend into the depths of oblivion to prevent the rise of Asmodeus. Each run offers new opportunities to transform Fenrix’s curse into overwhelming power, wielding an overhauled arsenal of weapons, linking angelic Blessings to attacks, and utilizing Runes and Arcana to create increasingly devastating builds.

This Early Access release date announcement follows the major updates introduced in Demo 2.0, which overhauled Ember and Blade’s combat and gave players even more ways to wreak havoc. Chain light and heavy attacks into powerful combos, link Blessings directly to attacks and dashes, experiment with weapons ranging from the Sword and Hammer to the recently introduced Shotgun, and stack abilities to transform Fenrix into an increasingly unstoppable demon-slaying force.

• Chain the Carnage – String light and heavy attacks into devastating combos with a reworked action and stamina system built to keep the fight flowing.
• Lock, Load, and Let Loose – Rediscover the fully reworked Sword and Hammer, or blast through demon hordes with the all-new Shotgun in Fenrix’s arsenal.
• Divine Power, Your Way – Link Blessing powers directly to light attacks, heavy attacks, and dashes to unleash their effects in combat without consuming stamina. Experiment with different combinations and complete Blessing Link Sets to unlock additional bonuses.
• Build Beyond the Limit – Discover Arcana cards and open up even more possibilities for powerful builds.
• Give ‘Em Hell – Face improved monster reactions and interactions with the environment, a new Break state, and redesigned Elite combat.
• Stay in the Fight – Take advantage of expanded control options, improved visibility, and an overhauled Elevator.
