The Cats Are Getting Stronger in Wild Woods

If you’ve been waiting for your little feline adventurers to get stronger with every trip into the forest, the latest Wild Woods update has some good news. Daedalic Entertainment and Octofox Games have released Update 0.6.0 for the co-op action roguelike, adding permanent progression, customizable controls, and several other improvements.

The biggest addition is the new Bushcraft progression system, which gives players a reason to keep coming back even after a run goes sideways. As players explore deeper into the woods, they earn experience and unlock new abilities, challenges, and rewards. Resources collected along the way can also go toward permanent stat upgrades and powerful perks called Ancestral Marks, allowing players to experiment with different builds and make their cats more capable over time.

The update isn’t just about getting stronger, either. Players can now unlock additional cat and wagon skins, along with emotes to give their adventures a little more personality. Animated 3D previews also make it easier to check out the available cosmetics.

Another welcome change is button remapping. Whether you prefer playing with a keyboard and mouse or a controller, you can now adjust the controls to better suit your preferences. The developers have also made several balance changes and improved the wagon’s nightly defense sequences.

For anyone who hasn’t picked up the game yet, there’s another reason to give it a look. Wild Woods is currently available at a 67% discount, while the Supporter Pack has received a 40% discount until October 26.

With permanent progression finally here, Wild Woods makes each run feel a little more rewarding. If you’ve enjoyed teaming up with friends to protect your wagon, this update might be the perfect excuse to head back into the forest.
