Rumor: Rockstar Tried To Get Daft Punk For GTA 6’s Soundtrack Before Going With Justice

We have an interesting rumor surrounding GTA 6 and its latest trailer.
GTA 6’s launch trailer was released just last week. It featured the title track from Justice, who composed the game’s original score.
Twitter user Has it Leaked shared some interesting behind the scenes tea about this, however. They said this:
Daft Punk’s management (yes, still exist) were pitched “a final comeback” of the duo for the GTAVI soundtrack with what was “essentially an unlimited budget”. Justice were Rockstar’s second choice.
When they were questioned about this, Has It Leaked claimed that they have a track record leaking news from both musical acts. It does seem their account is all about leaks for the music industry.
Daft Punk broke up in 2021 with little explanation. Interestingly, member Thomas Bangalter told the BBC that they did it over existential fears from AI. Bangalter’s single Music Sounds Better With You is in GTA V’s soundtrack and might also make it to GTA 6.
For their part, Justice calls Daft Punk the kings of finding hidden gem samples, and they’ve shifted to making their own loops. Expect a GTA 6 soundtrack that feels like it was lost to time.
