Razer has unveiled the new Wolverine V4 lineup, launching with two new controllers for Xbox consoles and PC – the Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition, and the Wolverine V4 Pro.

What’s new, and what’s the same?

The Wolverine V4 controllers use capacitive thumbsticks, marking a switch from the hall effect of the last generation.

Both Wolverine controllers use capacitive thumbsticks now, moving away from the hall effect sticks of the past generation.

Razer states that this change offers “superior resolution” for the thumbsticks, with a 16-bit analog-to-digital chip that registers around 3,000 steps of movement. It’s important to note, however, that this is only achieved when an 8,000Hz polling rate – both controllers support such a polling rate on PC, but you’re stuck with 250Hz on Xbox on both controllers.

It’s also noteworthy that Razer provides “resistance to magnetic interference” as a selling point – it’s a major reason why the company also has not pursued hall effect or TMR keyboards yet (apart from one exception). Perhaps it’s due to the removable back buttons, which now use a magnetic removal mechanism

Both the TE and the Pro feature dual mode Razer Pro HyperTriggers – this allows for users to switch between click-like actuation for FPSes, or full-range analog input detection for racing games. You can also adjust the actuation point between 1.3mm and 8.2mm via Razer Synapse.

What’s different between the TE and the Pro?

The Wolverine V4 Pro has a few customisation features that the TE doesn’t.

The Wolverine V4 TE is the entry point for the new lineup, featuring only wired connectivity and micro-switch face and d-pad buttons. The Wolverine V4 Pro, by contrast, supports wireless connectivity via a 2.4GHz HyperSpeed Wireless dongle.

Battery life for the Pro is rated for up to 27 hours of continuous usage. This does make the Pro slightly heavier at 305g compared to the TE’s 240g.

The Wolverine V4 Pro also has swappable thumbstick caps and face plates, alongside mecha-tactile face and d-pad buttons. Finally, the grips are also slightly different between the two – the TE features a laser-etched bottom grip, while the Pro uses a TPU grip.

Availability and Pricing

The Razer Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition and Wolverine V4 Pro are available for pre-order on Razer’s website. The TE will go for S$149, while the Pro will go for S$299. They’ll ship beginning 19 October 2026, and will also be available at RazerStores and select retailers.
