The Crew Motorfest will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 starting on October 8 in both a physical retail edition and digitally via the Nintendo eShop.
The Crew Motorfest is a celebration of driving, set in the stunning landscapes of the Hawaiian archipelago. It's all about the freedom to drive your way in this massive playground - discovering new roads, jumping into thematic campaigns that bring to life different eras and styles of car culture, collecting and expressing your style behind the wheel of fully customizable vehicles. Whether you're playing solo or diving into track creations from the community, using the TrackForge tool, every ride is easy to pick up and always fresh.
Play The Crew Motorfest anywhere, when it launches on October 8 for the Nintendo Switch 2.
I love this game, one of my favorite racers of the generation next to the Forza Horizon games. It would be awesome to play this handheld.
That said, the triggers on the joycons suck ass so I'm going to have to skip.
On a system with no analog triggers, racing games like this sound like an abysmal time.
The textures in that screenshot look kind of awful, even taking compression into account.

So, not anywhere, lol
Devoured it when it came to Game Pass, 100% completion in 3 days.
Definitely a good pickup if you're on Switch, closest you'll get to Forza Horizon.

There's a trick I used to use on PS2 that might help, map the right stick to throttle (up) and brake (down). Surprisingly effective.
Good to see Ubisoft fill the Forza Horizon hole on Switch 2.
GameCube controller support?

Man I can't even conceive of doing that in 3 days. The game is straight up massive

I used to map my flight joystick I used for Flight simulator 2004 for racing games back in the day in this way lol. Was fun
Didn't warm up to it early on and then came FH6. Something about the car physics/handling felt off to me. Should give it another try.

There appears to be a pretty heavy motion blur effect going on that it makes hard, for me at least, to really definitively get a read on the quality of the textures. I'd need to see more gameplay to make a judgment about that.

GameCube controller support?
I would hope so, Grid Legends supports it as well on Switch 2.
Doubt they are gonna skip out on this.
That's fantastic but it says an online connection is required to play. That was not a problem on my PS5 but I would mainly want to play it on Switch 2 on the go so I probably will pass.
Great racing game. Prefer it to FH.

Mobile Hotspot is always an option.
Game key card and online connection required, oh Ubisoft, how you tempt me.

I was thinking the same thing. It's difficult to judge the texture quality because of the blur motion effect.

That's true to an extend but still a bit of a hassle and not possible when on a plane. Maybe they patch in an offline version at some point.

Is this the same game they shut down on other platforms? Or was it something else.

Achievements are surprisingly "not grindy" considering it's a Ubisoft game.
I was at 99% completion in 18 hours, but had to idle the last 6 to get the 24 Hour Playtime achievement.

That was The Crew
Motorfest is the 3rd game in the series, still actively supported with live service content.
Great racing game. Prefer it to FH.
Me too. I'm logging in every Wednesday for the Summit. Great times and doesn't take much of your time!
i thought a horizon 5 (or 6) port was a no-brainer for the switch 2 as a chill open world (non-karting) racer feels like a great fit for the platform (although any hopes of that have been dashed with all the msoft/xbox fuckery recently) so i'm glad ubisoft is answering the call with this. judging from their previous porting efforts i'm confident it'll be a solid port, but it's an enormous shame that it's an always online game
Almost two years since they announced they would patch an offline mode for Motorfest. Amazing.
INCREDIBLY under appreciated game. Enjoyed it more than the past couple Forza Horizons tbh
One of the best and one of the most underrated racing games of these years.
IF there is Gamecube controller support that would solve the analog trigger problem, but I really wish there was a joycon variant for racing games (and other games) that had them. Nintendo systems need to just start having them again, I don't know why they're so wedded to having FOUR digital triggers.

They're probably not going to do it while the game is still being actively supported. I'd expect it closer to the end of the game's lifecycle.

This is a great alternative to the Forza Horizon series. Great port to get for Switch 2 for a genre it's lacking in.
Hopefully the GameCube NSO controller will be supported.
great game to have
plus cross-save means it's an easy pick up for me
I LOOOOVE the Pro Controller 2 but I do not buy racing games on this system because of the lack of analogue triggers. Shame really. Racing games lend themselves to portable play way better than some other genres.
So is this game online only or requires online because you need to download it to initially play?
I hope it has a solid framerate and perfect frame pacing. I hate racing games with framedrops.

Always online.
is it 60fps though?
If it is.....dear lord, im all in

It is 30fps on the series s and all last gen versions....no way it's 60 on the switch 2.

I have hope or Copium! lol
I'll watch some gameplay impressions but I can see myself picking this up. I have no other racing games on Switch 2 besides Mario Kart so far.
YES! BUT worthless without the offline patch. They should've went with The Crew 2 first as that has its offline patch, right? How did that turn out?
Oh, cool. Interested for sure.
Switch 2 gang gonna have a great time, especially since it has no Forza Horizon to play with. Game doesn't quite reach those highs in terms of pure gameplay, but some of the unique series like the old school races, the recent NASCAR one, down to the track editor and the plane/ship stuff is legitimately really cool. Don't sleep on this one!
A racing game on my Switch? How queer

After all the patent troubles they went through I doubt we see a new controller design with analog triggers from Nintendo ever again.

I find it odd that they didn´t add achievements/trophies for each update. A missed oportunity.

If you're referring to the patent-troll legal troubles with Anascape, they did lose initially in 2008 - but in 2010 - before the Wii U released but probably after its hardware was in development - Nintendo won on appeal and overturned that result, so they are well within their right to use Gamecube, Wavebird and Classic Controller designs again. Hence why they're able to sell Gamecube controllers for NSO I guess..
Unfortunately it seems to be a deliberate choice:
Sasaki: From the hardware side, we worked on what we were asked to do. There were a lot of, let's say, very fussy developers around us who wanted to go this route. That's why we went the route we did.
Kawamoto: In terms of analog buttons on the shoulders, there are positives, but also negatives. You lose a little bit of instancy when they're analog. We considered it and decided that instant input would be the better option. That's why we decided to move forward with this decision.
