卡普空下周推出《怪物猎人：荒野》Switch 2 免费序章演示版

Following what has been described by Capcom as a “painstaking, and at times seemingly endless, process of making decisions and optimisations one by one” the publisher finally announced last month that Monster Hunter Wilds will be landing on the Switch 2 during the first week of December. Given its less-than-perfect performance at launch, some have wondered just how the game will look and run on Nintendo’s handheld-hybrid. For those who remain sceptical, Capcom has confirmed that a free ‘Prologue Demo’ will be available to check out beginning next week.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the official Monster Hunter page revealed that Switch 2 owners will be able to try Wilds out as soon as next week, writing:

“The free Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on Oct 19 PT / Oct 20 BST! Prepare to experience the start of your adventure, then carry your save data over to the full game!”

Additionally, Capcom confirmed that the demo will allow for local play between Switch 2 consoles, meaning you’ll be able to hop in with friends to stress-test multiplayer performance. That said, online co-op will not be accessible as part of the demo.

Historically, Capcom has managed to successfully port a majority of its multi-platform titles to Nintendo’s Switch platforms – whether it be the OG Switch or the latest and greatest Switch 2. Given the state of MH Wilds at its launch back in 2025 however, this latest endeavour seems to have been one of their toughest challenges.

Hopefully the Switch 2 version winds up being a performant and visually pleasing experience. The demo will go live on the 20th of October – followed by its full release on the 4th of December.
