The Playlist said:
There's affection here, and flashes of inspired lunacy, but a tone isn't a story, and nostalgia isn't imagination. Street Fighter captures the feeling of a movie that never existed, but never quite figures out how to become a worthwhile movie of its own.
The Times (UK) said:
The direction from Kitao Sakurai is frenetic and meaningless, and the fight scenes (the film's raison d'être, surely?) are bafflingly dull.
