Red Barrels is following up from last month’s “Chemical Leak” event with their Season 7.2 Update “Geister”, which sees the return of the nefarious Program. Reagents must band together to find Intel that may bring them closer to their long-awaited dreams of escape in Phase 3, or they can entertain the returning “Geister” Program that has hallucinatory effects on their environment, among other additions to the game that offer salvation, sanitation, and outfitting themselves efficiently for their assignments.

This update also brings rebalanced Escalation Therapy progression, a new high-difficulty Variator, and a Favorites feature for customization menus, alongside additional gameplay adjustments and fixes.

The new Community Event “Escape The Facility” sees players searching for Escape Intel Schematics in order to leave the Trials with them in their inventory. Every phase of the Community Event unlocks exclusive rewards for participating players, while reaching each milestone phase will get you one step closer to the possibility of Escape.

Meanwhile, the new Limited-Time Event runs through December 8th, and sees players participating in Program “Geister”, an experiment in convergent hallucinatory therapy designed to amplify unforeseen side effects of the Trials. Surviving subjects will learn to contribute to a morally hygienic Trial Environment through biohazard collection, with secondary objectives to complete for extra rewards.

A brand new Geister Catalog is also available for the duration of the event. Players can spend their acquired Geister Event Tokens in the Catalog to unlock exclusive rewards. Once the event concludes, the Catalog will be removed and any unused Event Tokens will be forfeited.

The update also includes several additions, fixes and balancing tweaks:

The “Geister 2025” Catalog is now available for purchase in the Murkoff Store.
Added new Weeklies to the Weekly Escalation pool.

Reagent customization is now preserved after Relapses, except after the first Relapse.

Lock Breaker Amp: Bricks now break instantly after unlocking a padlocked container or door.

Reagents can now look behind them while assisting teammates in the Incapacitated or Dead state.

Added a setting to enable or disable the new controller minigame feature.

Trials adjustments:

Fund the Campaign: Reworked the escape phase difficulty and exit timer based on objective completion.

Eliminate the Past: Reworked the escape phase difficulty and exit timer based on objective completion.

Battery Stations no longer count as light areas for player detection.

Other general fixes and improvements.
