Story Highlight
- Tekken 8’s latest teaser has revealed Yujiro Hanma’s in-game model.
- The Baki crossover character was previously announced as a playable DLC fighter, and fans are loving his design so far.
- The Tekken team has also shared gameplay footage for the upcoming fighter, Roger Jr.
Tekken 8, first released in 2024 to plenty of success, is still going strong. Despite its ups and downs, the game continues to receive new content and is now set to add its latest guest fighter to the roster.
The latest addition to Tekken 8 marks Roger Jr.’s return next month, but afterwards, Yujiro Hanma will join the game as the latest guest character. Yujiro Hanma has also received a small teaser today, winning fans over with his menacing demeanor and terrifying strength.
Why it matters: Many fans feel the character will be a perfect fit for Tekken, creating plenty of excitement for his arrival.
Yujiro Hanma has finally appeared in Tekken 8’s latest teaser, and his in-game model is about as intense as expected.
Bandai Namco appears to have done a great job translating the larger-than-life feel of Baki characters to the game. In particular, many fans appreciate how Yujiro Hanma looks “cool” and “disgusting” at the same time.
The teaser does not show any gameplay, but Bandai Namco has shared a proper gameplay trailer for Roger Jr. for the time being. Once this character arrives in November, fans should look forward to a detailed Yujiro Hanma gameplay breakdown toward the end of the year.
Tekken 8 has already received guest characters like Clive Redfield from Final Fantasy 16 in the past, but Yujiro Hanma’s upcoming arrival has fans more excited than ever before. It will be interesting to see, then, whether the Baki character helps introduce a whole new audience to the Tekken franchise.
Do note that Tekken and Baki aren’t complete strangers to each other. In the past, a Tekken character like Feng was considered to have taken direct inspiration from Baki’s Retsu Kaioh, so the crossover should be quite fitting.
