You know that Trove isn’t about to let the spooky season pass folks by, right? Of course not. A community letter published over the weekend does indeed confirm that the Shadow’s Eve Halloween event is on its way back, with the main crux of the event involving helping lost souls find their way beyond the veil, which is being blocked by the evil Q’bthulu. Expect more details soon.

The other portions of the October letter to fans recounted previous updates and events, as well as answered a small selection of player questions, and while there aren’t too many major revelations here, there are some things that may have been on players’ minds that were addressed.

First, the devs of the MMO will not provide source code for the game due to “significant technical, legal, and security considerations” even as the suggestion was offered as a way to help with troubleshooting. Next, work on making build mode more accessible and add features like flying are on the docket for sometime in 2027. Finally, the devs continue to reassure fans that cheating and exploiting is a top priority and outline several measures being taken to attack the problem, such as better detection, ease of reporting, and harsher penalties.
