Steam 游戏 Hood Warfare 2 走红并被与 Call of Duty 比较

A new Steam game called Hood Warfare 2 has been going viral on social media, and it has immediately drawn comparisons to Call of Duty.

Over the years, there have been plenty of indie and mobile games that have attempted to recreate the formula of popular titles. Call of Duty has been one of those games that has been targeted most by the recreations.

Now, in mid-October, a new one has been going viral online: Hood Warfare 2. The game, which costs around $5 on Steam, was released on October 8. It follows the classic formula of having two rival teams drop into deathmatch modes, this time fighting across Chicago. 

Where the Call of Duty comparisons come in is the fact that there are killstreaks, as well as create-a-class, and the HUD looks a bit like the iconic Modern Warfare series.

There are game modes including Turf War (Domination), GangBang (Team Deathmatch), Chaos (Free-for-all), Hit a Lick (Capture the Flag), Destroy the Block (Search and Destroy), as well as Chain Snatch (Kill Confirmed).

Hood Warfare 2 has plenty of Call of Duty vibes about it.

One clip that has especially gone viral comes from Rainbow 6 Siege pro Merc, racking up more than five million views. In that, the TSM star goes on a killstreak, unlocking a ‘Snitch’ ability that works exactly like Call of Duty’s UAV. 

“They have a drive-by kill streak that s*it funny as hell; they bumpin music and shooting out the window,” Merc noted as well. 

“The Snitch being a UAV is hilarious,” one user commented. 

Other clips have also racked up big view counts, with some players saying things like sniping and movement are “better than Call of Duty” and that they’d rather play Hood Warfare 2 than the upcoming Modern Warfare 4. 

“Serious question, can you collateral,” one user asked. “Please tell me there is a Grove Street map. And the Ballas park,” another said, referring to the Grand Theft Auto series. “Idk who made this, but put this mf on PS5,” another suggested. 

As per the game’s Steam page, it has been developed by Trapstar Games and has achieved a ‘Mostly Positive’ review status already.

However, there are a few complaints too, with many users saying it is fun for a brief period but nothing much otherwise.
