《RuneScape》Ghrazi 血骑士 boss 战现已开启
The Ghrazi Blood Knights Are Here!
The final battle for Havenhythe has begun!
After everything that's unfolded across Havenhythe this year, it's finally time to face the leaders of House Ghrazi themselves. Lady Ghrazi and Lord Ghrazi are waiting, and they're not going down without a fight!
Take on this high-level boss encounter with a partner, learn their mechanics and put your combat skills to the ultimate test. Think you've mastered the fight? Push yourself even further with the Enrage system and see just how far you can go!
And don't forget: the Solo encounter arrives four weeks from today, giving those who prefer to take on the Blood Knights alone a chance to join the fight.
The Race to World First Is On!
The race is officially underway! Some of RuneScape's best PvMers are battling it out to become the first duo in the world to defeat the Ghrazi Blood Knights and claim that exclusive World First title!
The RS Guy and PupRS are hosting the action live on our official Twitch channel, so make sure to tune in as teams discover the fight, tackle its mechanics and race towards that first successful kill.
Rewards
Malachi's Tooth & Malachi's Claw
Relics of house Ghrazi, these crossbows have been afflicted with the same Sanguine substance afflicting Lady Ghrazi.
Malachi's Tooth & Claw are one of the new rewards from the Ghrazi Blood Knights, sitting alongside the Bow of the Last Guardian, as one of Ranged's Tier 95 weapon sets. While bows now have a very stack-based identity, owing to Elder God arrows, and the Bow of the Last Guardian, culminating in a consistent, high-skill expression gameplay loop - we want to ensure that crossbows feel meaningfully different and explore a different mechanical space than the Bow of the Last Guardian. As a result, we've opted for more explosive randomness within them.
Their passive effect gives them a 25% chance to refresh the cooldown of any Ranged ability used with them equipped, with the second effect doubling down on this, providing bonus damage whenever this occurs. Simply put, this puts a bit more of the variability within Ranged as a combat style - allowing you to pop off with back to back Deadshots, or Rapid Fires/Shadow Tendrils to allow you to extend the duration of your buffs.
Now, let's talk about power...
When running time trials internally, this does not put them above Bow of the Last Guardian in terms of power level. This is intentional. These are meant to offer more 'pop-off' moments, regardless of your skill level - without intruding on the high skill expression that Bow of the Last Guardian employs. In addition to that; crossbows don't have a Dracolich equivalent to support it. This gives it the space to exist without overshadowing the Bow of the Last Guardian, and giving it reward space within future subclass specific armour sets.
Invoke Arisen Flesh
The second Necromancy elemental codex.
One of the core difficulties with Necromancy is adding power that is not entirely 'passive', given how much of its power and uniqueness comes from Conjures. With Invoke Arisen Flesh, we want to explore 'tradeoffs' more - while existing Necromancy includes several ways to heal safely, keeping you near to max hitpoints throughout the fight primarily through the Vengeful Ghosts healing (assuming you're not using the Devourer's Nexus!), we want to explore how it feels when we counteract the safety wheels.
To that end, Invoke Arisen Flesh causes your zombie creatures to siphon lifepoints from you to increase the amount of damage your Zombie conjures deal. To further hone in on getting you out of your safety zone, it also gives additional power when you're below a health threshold.
The keen-eyed among you may have noticed that it's not specific, just like the Lord of Bones - which means that it will benefit any future Zombie conjures, as well!
Rewards Mechanisms
Number of Unique drops
Something we've done in the past for bosses is introduce a larger number of rewards to 'fill out' the boss. On the surface, this seems great! It gives more rewards for the encounter, which are ultimately all interesting, new, shiny things to look at, and as a combat designer, I love that you want to spend more time on my content! This does, however, come with a few drawbacks.
- Power creep
- We strive for each of our rewards to be a meaningful upgrade within your journey - which leads to power creep over time. Introducing more items from a single encounter reduces the power budget for rewards at that level from future pieces of content, and means we need to look upwards earlier. We want to ensure we're offering vertical progression at the right time.
- Reward value
- Typically, there is one 'main' reward to go for with most bosses - for example, the Sanctum of Rebirth (hard mode) has the Shard of Genesis, Amascut has the Tumeken's Resplendence gear, Zamorak has the Bow of the Last Guardian. Any more common unique rewards tend to be obtained along the wayside as players farm for the rarer rewards. This makes ensuring items remain valuable difficult over time, and becomes compounded over time as players seek to complete collection logs, leading to a lower value for those rewards. By reducing the number of overall unique items on a loot table, the content remains healthier!
This is something we're looking to test out here, and monitor the value of the rewards over time.
Drop Sources
Several of our recent bosses have utilised a 'Chest' system - we use these in specific scenarios, such as when NPC's don't 'die' (Flesh-hatcher Mhekarnahz), when you get loot throughout the encounter (Tzkal-Zuk), or even for cool factor (Zamorak, Lord of Chaos, Araxxi).
While these can offer cool visuals and 'pog' moments (green particles at Amascut), something that often gets ignored is the intrinsic value of seeing loot drop on the floor, and right clicking the pile to see what you've got, or seeing a drop model on the ground. This is something we're keen to return to for the Ghrazi Blood Knights. Let us know your thoughts!
Crossbow Bolt Changes
We would be remiss if we didn't talk about the current state of crossbow bolts - as they currently stand, they do not provide power in line with their proc chance, especially when compared against tier-for-tier arrows - Elder God Arrows. While we don't have anything specific to talk about today; we want to confirm that we will be performing a pass over all Bakriminael bolts in the coming weeks.
With this, we aim to put a bit more power into crossbows across the board via their ammo - indirectly affecting Ascensions, Blightbounds and the new Malachi's crossbows. This aims to bring them closer to the power level of bows, while maintaining their identity as 'RNG' ammo.
The Knights are here. Grab your partner, prepare for battle and let's see who draws first blood!
