A Fresh Wave of Magic Hits Witchspire
Witchspire is getting a serious dose of magic with its latest update. Developer Envar Games has released Dormant Powers for its Early Access open-world co-op adventure on Steam, just three weeks after the previous major update, Haunted Magick, arrived to kick off the spooky season.
Dormant Powers introduces several new features, including crafting and a brand-new familiar named Scrappy. Players can salvage unwanted items to create useful equipment and companions, with six different versions of Scrappy available to craft. Each has its own elemental ability, while improved familiar controls and a new emote wheel make interacting with companions more enjoyable.
Combat also received a major overhaul through Weapon Systems 2.0. Players can freely swap Spell Gems between weapon bases, upgrade their weapons and gems, and experiment with different combinations to suit their playstyles. New spells encourage teamwork, allowing some players to focus on healing and shielding while others unleash devastating attacks.
The update also introduces Sigils, which let players customize their magic with powerful effects. These include multi-shot projectiles and spells that orbit around the caster. Rarer spells can accommodate more Sigils, giving players greater freedom to experiment with different magical builds.
The game’s previous update, Haunted Magick, added several quality-of-life improvements, including inventory sorting, new outfits and player heads, an 82-piece Gothic building set, more than 40 additional decorations, and two familiars: Enmire and Pumpaling.
Dormant Powers gives players plenty of reasons to return to Witchspire, from experimenting with new combat combinations to crafting their own magical companions. For those who enjoy exploring fantastical worlds with friends, this latest update offers another fun reason to jump back in and see what new tricks their coven can pull off.
