Crazy that Capcom has two big IP films out this year. One was very good. I think this looks good too.

It looks so much better than any MK movie. Or any other Street Fighter movie, for that matter.

I loved Mortal Kombat 2, it had the right amount of cheese and the trailers sold me.

when they went to the garme awards and started trash talking mk 2 i was turned off immediately everyone in this movie besides the actress playing chun li and maybe eric andre seem to be in it for a check not sure if im gonna check it out or not yet

None of the trailers looked good or managed to convince the general audience they should watch it. It doesn't have the hook of RE Zach Cregger movies or Mortal Kombat more popular with general audiences.

Don't fill the cast with alt-right draped or adjacent actors and maybe you could have had my money. Instead I will never watch it, regardless of quality, out of principle. Nice work dingdongs.

They've got it on all the buses where I am. Interesting it's looking like a bomba.

I'm hoping the fight scenes will save the movie and word of mouth gets more ticket sales past the first week.

They're blocking all reviews until right before the movie releases. Normally a horrible sign (just happened with Other Mommy which got atrocious reviews).

it look interesting in terms of the angle they took with not having it take itself seriously, but it is legitimately such an ugly ass movie in every trailer I see, and I wonder if thats turning people off. I know "it looks like AI" is turning into a trope, but I saw a clip of 50 Cent as Balrog and it legitimately looked like some shitty deep fake IG reel. So garish and ugly.

Why are people surprised? MK was always the bigger series, both gaming and other media...

The marketing seems to have only JUST now ramped up.
Guessing they're praying for a lot of walk-ups.

I am especially turned off by the usage of SF2 announcer FX because it sounds stupidly lame and was a product of low compression at the time. Whether or not its used for marketing the addition of two maga wwe stars is enough to turn me off.

I don't think that's it tbh, just looks kinda ass. They didn't find the right balance between cheese and serious tone. It's all cheese, and the comedy doesn't seem particularly strong.

I'm gonna watch it cuz I'm a super SF fan, but no trailer really sold me, it's just the source material and the flashbacks are done in anime.

Even for most Street Fighter fans, the movie looks like a "Well, it will be a fun ride at least". If you are just looking at it with no knowledge of Street Fighter or any of these characters, then it must look like the dumbest fucking thing ever lol. I want to see the movie but this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Already said this in a previous thread, but the idea of wanting to see a movie "bad on purpose(?)" is not enough anymore in the current day and era.

Honestly, the movie looks terrible. And I'm as big an SF fan as they come.

I'll definitely catch it on streaming later as a so bad it's good watch but I'm not paying exorbitant theater fees for it

Makes sense imo, MK is huge outside the FGC sphere.

While i do wish for it's success, the trailers didn't sell me, i feel they are leaning a bit too much on the camp side, i'm all in for a fun movie without trying to be all edgy, but some degree of seriouness is important, from all i've seen most characters don't even act like they should.
