Xbox Game Pass Changes Detailed in New Report
Game Pass is about to change a lot, again, according to a new report/interview from Fortune.
Piece by Piece
Fortune has a piece going over Asha Sharma’s time so far at Xbox. Alongside info on when you to expect new Xbox hardware, they have also detailed what is coming for Xbox Game pass.
Xbox is planning a major overhaul of Game Pass that would have players choose features à la carte, including add-ons for console-only games, cloud gaming, and multiplayer, with the system operating on a tiered structure, according to people familiar with the strategy.
Currently, Xbox Game Pass has four tiers new users can choose from:
- Xbox Game Pass Essentials
- Xbox Game Pass Premium
- Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
- Xbox Game Pass PC
Each tier has cloud gaming, and a varying selection of games included. Ultimate offers. Pricing begins at $10 a month and goes up to $23 for Ultimate. This new setup would seemingly allow Xbox users to pick and choose exactly what they want.
Given how Ultimate offers up cloud streaming, a massive library across PC and console, Ultimate perks and more, it will be interesting to see how much all of those cost in this new ‘your choice’ setup.
