Inner Circle 提拔 stikle- 为主教练,Major 希望进入关键阶段
Inner Circle promote stikle- as Major hopes enter decisive stage
Inner Circle 在赛季关键节点将 assistant coach stikle- 提拔为 head coach,jR 转任 management 岗位。
Inner Circle have changed their Counter-Strike 2 coaching structure at a critical point in their season. Klesti “stikle-” Kola has stepped up from assistant coach to head coach for the team’s upcoming events, while Dmytro “jR” Chervak moves into a management role within the organization.
The switch arrives with Inner Circle still fighting for a potential place at the PGL Major Singapore 2026. Their recent results have made that route significantly more difficult, putting additional pressure on the upcoming Stake Ranked events.
jR leaves coaching role after one year
jR’s move ends a roughly year-long spell as Inner Circle’s head coach. During that period, the Ukrainian roster developed into a team capable of competing inside the upper part of the Valve Regional Standings.
One of the biggest moments of his tenure came when Inner Circle won the first Super DraculaN tournament. That result helped move the team firmly into the conversation for a Singapore Major invitation.
However, their position has weakened following more recent results.
- Inner Circle reached the global VRS top 20 during jR’s tenure.
- The team won the inaugural Super DraculaN event.
- A group-stage exit at Stake Pulse Beat III damaged their Major qualification chances.
Inner Circle finished 9th-12th at Stake Pulse Beat III after suffering defeats against Ninjas in Pyjamas and Sangal. Their recent event history also includes a 3rd-4th finish at Logitech G Play Connect 2026 and 5th-6th in the PGL Masters Bucharest Europe Closed Qualifier.
stikle- gets another head coaching opportunity
stikle- is not arriving as an outsider. He has already been working with Inner Circle as an assistant coach in recent months, which should reduce the disruption normally associated with a mid-season coaching change.
The 28-year-old previously worked as head coach of Fingers Crossed before leaving that position earlier in 2026. His most notable coaching period came with Bad News Eagles in 2022.
With the Kosovar roster, stikle- helped oversee surprise runs at both PGL Major Antwerp and the IEM Rio Major. Bad News Eagles reached the Legends Stage at both events, establishing themselves as one of the era’s most recognizable underdog teams.
His previous Major experience could become particularly valuable as Inner Circle enter a qualification period where almost every result matters.
| Change | New role | Immediate relevance |
|---|---|---|
| stikle- | Head coach | Leads upcoming ranked events |
| jR | Management | Remains within organization |
| Inner Circle | VRS contender | Fighting for Major position |
Inner Circle have not confirmed that the coaching change is permanent. The organization has only stated that stikle- will take charge at Stake Ranked Episode 5 and Episode 6.
Singapore Major qualification is under pressure
The biggest issue facing stikle- is the team’s position in the Valve Regional Standings.
Inner Circle’s disappointing Stake Pulse Beat III campaign significantly reduced their margin for error. According to current calculations reported by HLTV, the team needs at least a top-two finish at Stake Ranked Episode 5 to maintain a realistic chance of qualifying for the Singapore Major.
That makes stikle-‘s first events unusually important for an interim coaching assignment.
- Stake Ranked Episode 5 begins Inner Circle’s immediate qualification push.
- A deep run is required to improve their realistic Major chances.
- Episode 6 provides another opportunity if the team’s ranking position remains competitive.
Inner Circle are currently ranked No. 29 on HLTV and continue to field Arseniy “cptkurtka023” Derevinskiy, Daniil “headtr1ck” Valitov, Eduard “zeRRoFIX” Petrovskyi, Viktor “onic” Babii and David “Dawy” Bibik.
The lineup has shown enough potential to challenge stronger opposition. Recent months included victories against teams such as Liquid and competitive appearances at higher-level events, but consistency remains an issue.
Internal promotion limits disruption
From a structural perspective, promoting stikle- is a relatively low-risk move.
Because he has already worked with the players, the team does not need to introduce an entirely new tactical philosophy immediately. That matters when the roster has little time available for a complete rebuild before its next ranked matches.
jR remaining inside Inner Circle could also preserve continuity. His move into management means the organization retains someone who understands the team’s existing systems, personalities and competitive development.
The exact distribution of responsibilities between jR and stikle- has not yet been detailed publicly.
Assessment
Inner Circle’s decision arrives at a difficult but logical moment.
The team’s progress under jR was significant enough to put a Singapore Major appearance within reach, but the Stake Pulse Beat III result has left very little room for another poor tournament. Changing the coaching structure now gives Inner Circle an opportunity to create a new competitive impulse without completely rebuilding its backroom staff.
stikle-‘s experience with Bad News Eagles is particularly relevant. He has previously coached an underdog roster through high-pressure Major campaigns, although that history does not guarantee similar results with Inner Circle.
The immediate target is much clearer: Inner Circle need strong placements at their next ranked events. If stikle- can deliver that quickly, the coaching change could help keep their Singapore Major hopes alive.
