Last week I made a big song and dance about JB Hi-Fi offering the Nintendo Switch 2 for AU$699, down from AU$769. That deal has since expired, unfortunately. Or at least, it would be unfortunate if Amazon wasn't currently offering the same deal.

Yep, Amazon is currently selling the Nintendo Switch 2 for AU$699, down from AU$769. If you've been living under a rock these past few months, you might wonder why I'm highlighting a "deal" offering the Switch 2 for its launch RRP. Well, that RRP increased to AU$769 in September, so this deal is more a flashback to simpler, cheaper times.

The cost of gaming is increasing by the month, so this substantial discount on the standalone Nintendo Switch 2 is worth jumping at if you're in the market. Heck, maybe it's worth jumping at even if you're not. Given the September price increase, getting a Switch 2 for this price will become increasingly rare. View Deal

This is the simple, standalone Nintendo Switch 2: no games included. But with that AU$69 you're saving, you could take a chunk off the RRP of the Ocarina of Time remake (which Amazon is selling for AU$108. Wow, games are expensive in 2026, aren't they?).

As we move closer to Black Friday, hopefully some of the big Switch 2 games get some decent discounts. Though now that I mention it, there are a handful of decent deals happening on Amazon at the moment: Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, which came out last week, is going for AU$84 (down from AU$89.95), Star Fox for AU$69 (down from AU$74) and Metroid Prime 4 for AU$79 (down from AU$89.95).

Will the Switch 2 be cheaper during Black Friday? If you'd asked me two years ago I would have confidently said yes. Nowadays, with the AI-induced RAM crisis driving up prices of all gaming hardware, I'd be super surprised if it did, or at least, if it does, it probably won't go for much cheaper than this.
