Talk Alice Labs has released a new trailer for Wildercrown, its upcoming RuneScape-inspired MMO that combines classic skill progression with some ambitious ideas for a shared online world. The 90-second trailer arrived on October 17, offering players a fresh look at the project ahead of its planned Kickstarter campaign.

Currently in development for Windows PC via Steam, the game lets players gather resources, craft equipment, develop skills, complete quests, and battle their way through dangerous dungeons. The current prototype features 15 skills, giving players plenty of room to build their characters and choose how they want to progress.

But Wildercrown isn’t stopping at familiar MMO mechanics. One of its more unusual features is an in-game stock market where players can buy and sell shares in 50 fictional companies using in-game crowns. Players can study market charts, place orders, and manage their portfolios alongside their usual adventures.

Talk Alice Labs also has plenty of features planned for the full experience, including player housing, pets, mounts, early motorcars, kingdom warfare, and cooperative raids supporting up to 50 players. AI-powered NPCs with persistent memory could also make interactions feel more dynamic. Another planned mode, Underground Mines, will send groups of 10 players underground in search of valuable resources and treasure.

The developers also want the community to help shape the game’s future. Most proposed post-launch features will go to a player vote, with at least 66% approval required before development moves forward.

With its blend of old-school MMO progression and unconventional features, Wildercrown is worth keeping on the radar. Players can follow its Kickstarter pre-launch page for updates and a notification when the campaign goes live.
