Fans of legacy-themed MMORPGs, pay attention: MapleStory Classic World launches today across the globe. This dose of “true nostalgia,” as Nexon puts it, has been in a founder’s access period since October 6th but is now available worldwide via Nexon’s launcher and Steam as a free-to-play experience.

MapleStory Classic World is a reimagined legacy version of the game with just five base classes, slower leveling, older mechanics, and a fresh economy on its own unique servers. There’s also new content and zones added to give this a bit of a different flair than other versions of the game.

The launch details, installation instructions, and version 1.0 patch notes are up on the site, along with a guide how to begin your adventure on Maple Island and head out into the bigger world from there. Of course, there are login rewards for this launch period, including the most adorable little snail pet.
