《恶魔城：Belmont's Curse》PC版首发问题：玩家报告黑屏、手柄及Steam Deck故障

Despite convincing most professional critics and the press, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is having a harder time pleasing PC players on Steam, with reports of black screen issues and weird control behaviour plaguing the launch build.

The game was released earlier today, October 15, and is currently holding a Mixed user rating on Steam with nearly 500 reviews at the time of writing. A quick glance reveals a generally positive assessment of the creative work delivered by Evil Empire and Konami, but a myriad of technical issues are preventing some players from fully enjoying this new 2D adventure into the heart of darkness.

“No excuse for releasing the game without solving the issues that already plagued the demo,” one player wrote, underlining frequent freezes and “ghost inputs”, both issues that line up with what we’ve been seeing mentioned in other Steam reviews and Reddit posts. Players are reporting HID input devices can mess with controls, but it seems the community hasn’t figured out a proper fix yet in the absence of a launch-day patch.

“Nothing was adjusted; the product honestly feels like a rough draft,” another player said of their experience playing on Steam Deck (the game is currently marked as “playable”, with only text size issues noted). They point out the in-game FPS cap is hurting performance and the game’s AA solution is very poor (a recurring complaint for other versions of the game too). Moreover, it appears the 16:10 display is being cropped due to a lack of proper resolution support outside of 720p (16:9).

The main Reddit thread at r/castlevania isn’t glowing either; while most players seem happy with Evil Empire’s vision, they’re running into similar issues. “Game just hangs on a black screen on launch unless you set your monitor’s refresh rate lower,” one user said, confirming other reports.

Control problems and unreliable attacks also appear to be bothering a lot of players voicing their thoughts on the sub, though it seems one or two decent patches could quickly punch Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse into shape. Here’s hoping the reaction to these widespread issues is swift and definitive, as it looks quite enticing otherwise.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is now available on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. No native Switch 2 version has been announced yet.
