Alternate characters in retail WoW can feel like homework you can buy your way out of, which is why World of Warcraft: Forever is pitching a different relationship with that second, third, or tenth character through its new Legacy System. The system, which has been testable in the beta since October 8, is subtle and works a bit like talents — only paying out account-wide rewards and points to spend across all of a player's characters. Already, it's made rolling an alt in World of Warcraft: Forever feel like more of a continued adventure, even as the seemingly eternal debate about dungeon experience remains seemingly unresolved.
