Riot 开放 VCT EMEA 2027 直晋通道并设阶梯奖金,非合作伙伴战队可经公开赛进入顶级赛事,缓解其晋级与资金压力。
Riot Games has revealed the full structure for the VCT EMEA 2027 Kickoff qualifiers, creating a new route for non-partner teams to compete directly against established VALORANT organizations.
Open qualification begins in November across Europe, Türkiye and MENA. Four teams will eventually earn places at the VCT EMEA Kickoff 2027, where they will join eight partner organizations in a 12-team field.
Four open teams will reach VCT EMEA Kickoff
The biggest change is the number of opportunities available outside the partnership system.
Two European teams will qualify for the Kickoff, while Türkiye and MENA receive one slot each. Every region will run two qualifier stages, giving teams another opportunity if their first attempt ends early.
The initial qualifier dates are:
- Europe: November 5-8 and November 12-15
- Türkiye: November 10-13 and November 18-21
- MENA: November 1-3 and November 9-11
Each region then uses its own playoff structure to determine which teams advance to the VCT EMEA Kickoff.
For Europe, the top four teams from each qualifier advance to a 16-team playoff. Eight additional non-partner teams will receive direct invitations based on their competitive status and results during 2026.
The system creates a significantly more direct connection between open competition and the highest level of VCT EMEA.
Europe gets two Kickoff places
Europe has the largest qualification path.
Both opening qualifiers use single-elimination brackets with best-of-three matches. Four teams from each qualifier advance, creating eight open-qualifier participants for the regional playoffs.
They will be joined by eight invited non-partner teams.
The 16-team Europe playoffs run from November 26 until December 5 and use a modified double-elimination bracket. Most matches are best-of-three, while the Grand Final will be played as a best-of-five.
The top two teams qualify for VCT EMEA Kickoff 2027.
| Region | Kickoff slots | Main qualification route |
|---|---|---|
| Europe | 2 | 16-team regional playoffs |
| Türkiye | 1 | Eight-team regional playoffs |
| MENA | 1 | Middle East vs North Africa final |
The different structures allow Riot to maintain regional qualification paths while ultimately bringing all four successful teams into the same EMEA competition.
Türkiye and MENA use separate systems
Türkiye will also hold two single-elimination qualifiers.
The top two teams from each advance into an eight-team playoff alongside four invited teams selected based on their competitive performances in 2026.
The playoff stage runs from November 25 through December 6. Teams are initially divided into two GSL-style groups, with the strongest four progressing to the knockout stage. The eventual winner earns Türkiye’s VCT EMEA Kickoff slot.
MENA follows a different structure because qualification is divided between the Middle East and North Africa.
Each subregion holds its own qualifiers. The winners eventually play regional best-of-five deciders on November 20. The Middle East and North Africa representatives then meet in a final best-of-five on December 6, with Riot flying both teams to the same location to reduce latency differences.
The winner earns the MENA Kickoff position.
Riot adds financial support for open teams
Qualification now brings financial benefits as well as access to higher competition.
Riot has introduced fixed support payments for non-partner teams that reach major stages of the VCT ecosystem.
The announced payments are:
- Qualification for Kickoff or a Cup: $100,000
- Qualification for Masters: $200,000
- Qualification for Champions: $400,000
Non-partner teams can also receive applicable prize money and additional incentives during the season.
That financial structure addresses one of the biggest challenges facing teams attempting to progress outside the established partnership system. Reaching international competition requires travel, staffing and player salaries, making financial support increasingly important as teams advance.
Eligibility rules keep qualification regional
Riot has also introduced clear eligibility requirements.
Players must be at least 17 years old and must have reached Ascendant 1 or higher either at registration or during one of the previous three Acts.
Teams must choose a home region when registering. At least three of the five starting players must come from that region, while no more than two starters can be non-residents.
Teams reaching the later qualification stages must also retain at least three players from the roster that earned their qualification place.
Registration for the first qualifier is already open, with deadlines varying between Europe, Türkiye, the Middle East and North Africa.
Assessment
The VCT EMEA 2027 qualifier structure represents a significant expansion of Riot’s open competition model.
Instead of keeping aspiring organizations separated from the partnership league for most of the season, Riot is creating a direct path into Kickoff and potentially further into Cups, Masters and Champions. The financial payments attached to qualification also make successful runs more sustainable for organizations without partner-level resources.
The system does not guarantee that open teams will immediately challenge established VCT organizations. The gap in experience, infrastructure and preparation can still be substantial.
However, giving four non-partner teams a place at Kickoff creates a clear competitive incentive. For ambitious VALORANT rosters across Europe, Türkiye and MENA, the 2027 season now begins with a realistic route from an open qualifier directly into VCT EMEA.
