Switch 2 and Switch have already been hit with global price hikes in 2026, and now, Nintendo has announced it will increase the cost of hardware repairs in Japan.

According to an official notice on Nintendo's Japanese website, the price revision (which will be applied to both the Switch 2 and Switch) will take effect next month on 16th November 2026.

As highlighted by Nintendo Everything, it appears the repair costs for the "CPU board, LCD unit, and other components" will all be "going up". However, controller and accessory repair prices seemingly won't be revised.

"As an example, repairs involving the Nintendo Switch 2 CPU board currently cost 27,500 yen. However, it will soon be 37,400 yen...Nintendo Switch is seeing something similar. For that system, CPU repair costs will increase from 16,500 yen to 26,400 yen."

Nintendo previously hiked repair prices in Japan in March last year, just months before the launch of the Switch 2. At the moment, it hasn't said anything about increasing or revising repair prices in other parts of the world, but if we hear any updates, we'll let you know.

When Nintendo announced system price hikes earlier this year, it stated at the time how it was due to "changes in market conditions" and the company's "global business outlook".

Have you ever had to get a Switch system repaired by Nintendo? Have you bought a Switch or Switch 2 since the recent price hikes? Let us know in the comments.
