As that headline might suggest, calling the next major updates coming to Where Winds Meet “varied” is pretty much an understatement. The next “theme region” for the multiplayer wuxia RPG has a lot going on, including a mountainous region, a sect that’s actually about winning with words, and weaponized ribbons.

The highlight for this update is the new region of Qingzhou, a mountainous area that “seamlessly fuses rugged peaks with broad coastal landscapes shaped by Confucian thought.” This area arrives in two parts, with the climb through the Eastern Peak down into a valley that leads to the Yellow River coming first, followed by a mist-shrouded island known as Penglai on October 29th. Players can also expect three new world bosses to face off against.

As with other updates, this patch will also add a new sect known as the Inkbound Order, which actually engages foes in a PvP Duel of Wits card game that utilizes banter, witticisms, and mental games to best enemies. Of course, if you prefer to use martial skill, then there will also be a new Ribbon Drum weapon, a support option that blends swift strikes, crowd control, and combat buffs. A trailer for all the new goodies can be watched below.
