The end of Zenless Zone Zero’s version 3.2 update is near, which means another Special Program going over all of the latest juicy details with the latest update. We’ll take a dive into information related to the upcoming Version 3.3 update “Journey to the Sky”, including 2 new playable S-Rank Agents, new mech combat gameplay, and more.

Version 3.3’s main story finds the conflict over the sky island of Roscaelifer reaching a new peak: traffic to the entire island of Booastrum is locked down, and we can only get back via the occupied skyport – Quietude Isle. Amidst an undesirable situation, will Judge Phoenix and Commissioner Severian be able to put their differences aside to join forces? Additionally, the Proxy will touch down on the island with Lindverne, inching ever closer to the truth behind all three Sunbringers and the Karma Cores within them.

You may have guessed by the trailers, but joining the playable cast is S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent Phoenix. Aligned with Krampus Compliance Authority, she makes the second unit belonging to this group. Phoenix’s unique playstyle makes her very hard to defeat in battle. The fiercer her opponents resist, the more her fighting spirit is fired up. Her Core Skill, Nirvana, can sear enemies afflicted by an Anomaly, enabling subsequent Anomaly DMG dealt to them to trigger a critical hit. If Phoenix’s HP drops to zero, instead of going down, Phoenix won’t be put out of commission. Instead, she can trigger Rebirth to revive on the spot with full health and jump right back into the fray.

Following Phoenix’s debut in the first half of Version 3.3 is Severian, the S-Rank Wind Attack Agent. He’s a senior commissioner at New Eridu Public Security who won’t hesitate to use necessary violence to uphold order. His Core Skill, Endless Breeze, allows him to automatically dodge an incoming attack and use the momentum to launch a counterattack. After a successful dodge or hitting enemies with a specific skill, he can build up Energy to unleash even more powerful attacks. In terms of reruns, Severian himself brings Norma and her signature W-Engine while Phoenix rings out the first half alongside Velina and her signature W-Engine.

In terms of new outfits, you can purchase Phoenix’s two brand-new outfits as a bundle for a limited-time 30% discount. Severian’s everyday uniform, Solemnly Impeccable, will also hit the store when his Signal Search becomes available in the second half of this update. It also brings fresh new avatars, dynamic wallpapers, and trust events for both Agents.

For version events, businesses in Lumina Square are teaming up to host the “Night of Supernatural Tricks” event, and the HIA Club is rolling out a brand-new VR game, “Spooky Funhouse Tales”. Proxies can drive various styles of Trickmobiles and scare away uninvited funhouse guests, allowing them to acquire rewards such as an Angels of Delusion outfit (the third one in the long-standing event), a brand-new A-Rank W-Engine, and fresh Proxy accessories. Additionally we see the debut of the “Cyber Miracle Healer, on Duty” event. Proxies will need to flex their cyber miracle healer skills once more to fix Bangboo that have gone haywire after accidentally eating “toxic” chips. In the “Trails of the Hobbling Crow” event, Proxies have to track down the culprit who attacked Crowe, and in “Repair! Drifting Art,” they must piece together painting fragments lost at sea. Naturally the double drop events for Area Patrol and Combat Simulation return.

Now, we mentioned a brand-new mech combat experience. This is another brand new addition with Version 3.3. In the story, Lindverne will use her Karma Core power, “Genesis Reconstruction,” to help create multiple High Ambitions Corp. combat mechs, which Proxies can then pilot to engage in combat with enemies. The mechs will feature both melee and ranged attack modes you can freely swap between during use. Furthermore, after using an EX Special Attack or dodging enemy attacks, you can unleash an even more powerful laser attack. If you use your environment to your advantage, via shooting explosives or launching heavy objects with your punches, you can make your combat and puzzle-solving experience even better. This new gameplay will be available in future versions for everyone to continually enjoy.

There’ll be some other system experience optimizations, such as Fairy now being able to provide a team recommendation function tailored to a Proxy’s existing roster. These team lineups can be applied to a preset config with a single click, so Proxies might find the teambuilding experience a little easier than combing through various guides and forums elsewhere. Additionally there will be some more in-depth tutorial videos to help players better understand how to play their characters. If you’re like me and still don’t fully understand how a certain team plays, this is absolutely massive information to have available at the click of a button within the game itself. There will also be some relevant guides as to what characters you’ll wanna bring to a given scenario alongside potential enhancement progress available with, you’ll never believe this, a click of a button. QoL updates like this are huge for anybody that hasn’t mastered the depth of the game yet or for new players that wanna get into the teambuilding and character building without a whole bunch of external research.

All of this and more will be available in Zenless Zone Zero’s Version 3.3 update, dropping on October 21st, 2026 on all platforms. This includes PlayStation 5 (and the Pro model obviously), Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, and Android, with a simultaneous release for the Steam version.
