Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is getting a permanent price cut just as its second year of updates gets underway, with Sega also bringing free Duel Mode and a six-pack crossover season pass to the track. Year Two begins on November 3, 2026, and the roadmap stretches through late 2027, pairing Godzilla, Evangelion, Sanrio and Persona with a dash of Sega history.
Insider Gaming and Push Square both reported the roadmap and the price changes. The lower entry price could make the racer an easier pick-up for Australian players, while Sega’s CrossWorlds pricing now sits alongside a fresh run of content.
A free head-to-head mode kicks things off
Duel Mode puts two racers against each other, with players able to see their rival’s items, gadgets and position. Its Duel Boost gauge fills over time and can be spent for bursts of speed, adding another resource to manage during a close race.

There are several ways to take on a duel: Rival Duel pits players against CPU opponents, while Duel Match offers online matchmaking, including limited-time best-of-10 events. Friend Match lets players race friends with custom rules. The free update also adds the Grand Master Plate, which gives one-slot gadgets placed in its seventh “Super Slot” a stronger effect; Bayonetta is another free Year Two addition.
Six packs take CrossWorlds well beyond Sonic
The paid Season Pass Two costs $29.99 and ranges from kaiju-sized machines to Sanrio racers. The Midgar Pack is labelled a working title in the roadmap; Push Square identifies it as Final Fantasy VII Remake content. That broad crossover mix follows Sega’s wider habit of drawing on its back catalogue, including in its 2026 game line-up.
| Pack | Scheduled release | Confirmed highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Godzilla | November 3, 2026 | Godzilla Escape course; Godzilla, King Ghidorah and Mothra machines |
| Evangelion | January 2027 | Tokyo-III course; Rei and Asuka |
| Virtual Sanrio Puroland | Q2 2027 | Hello Kitty and Kuromi |
| SEGALAND | Q3 2027 | After Burner, OutRun and Super Megalo machines |
| Midgar Pack (working title) | Q3 2027 | One course, two racers and one machine |
| Reload Revival Royal | Q4 2027 | Persona series; one course, two racers and two machines |
The crossover roster should feel familiar to anyone following Sega’s other collaborations, including the Sonic crossover in Fortnite. CrossWorlds’ new pass adds six distinct worlds to the mix, with more details still to come for the Midgar and Persona packs.
Lower prices and Sega-themed bonuses
The permanent US price changes take the base game from $70 to $40 and the Digital Deluxe edition from $90 to $60. Season Pass Two also comes with bonuses: a SEGA Controllers Decal Pack, available from October 9, 2026, and a SEGA Consoles Pack arriving November 3 with machines inspired by the Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast.
Players who own both season passes can also get Super Shadow and the Super Dark Flare machine from November 3. The schedule then runs from Godzilla in November to Evangelion in January, Sanrio in Q2, SEGALAND and Midgar in Q3, and Persona’s Reload Revival Royal in Q4 2027.
