PokéCommunity 2026 Game Jam

Hello gamers and game makers and welcome to our very own game jam.

For those of you not in the know, a game jam is a type of event where developers attempt to create a game within a short, fixed time period. In the case of our event here, we're giving you from October 18 until November 29 - six weeks. Of course, game jams also often have a theme and we'll be doing that too. Specifically, our theme will be autumn/fall.

Pretty much anything you can make in that time frame, that can be related back to that theme somehow, is entirely valid. You're welcome to use any software and make any genre or style of game you choose, you don't even have to make it a Pokémon fan game if you don't want. We encourage you to be creative.

Once everything is over, we'll be making sure everyone can see the awesome games people submit and every participant will be able to pick up a Porygon or Rotom from our PokéShop and earn the pory.exe badge to display in your flair.

To participate in the jam, you can sign up in this thread by posting to let us know of your intent to participate. Once you are signed up, you will be given access to this special game jam forum here. When your game is ready, you can post it into there as a thread. Once development time is up, we'll be making those threads publicly visible and doing an announcement on the forums and posting a master list to the Daily to make sure people can come give the games a try. We'll leave the game jam forum open from November 30 to December 13 and then merge the game threads into the appropriate game development forums. You'll be notified where your thread has gone.

All games submitted for the jam must follow the below rules.

1. All usual PokéCommunity & Fan Games rules apply.
2. You may not use a pre-existing project. Development must begin at the start of the event.
3. You may use third party assets in your project. However, these must be free assets that any other participant could theoretically find and make use of.
4. You may not use generative AI in developing your game.
5. You may only enter once, either as a solo developer or as part of a team.
