More Players Will Finally Experience Feed the Deep
Luke Muscat, the developer behind Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, has announced that his Lovecraftian roguelike Feed the Deep is coming to consoles and Android in 2027. Publisher CerebralFix confirmed that the game will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows Store, and Android.
Inspired by indie classics like Spelunky and Dome Keeper, Feed the Deep takes players into procedurally generated underwater caves filled with dangers and valuable resources. Players must collect materials, trade them for upgrades and items, and explore deeper into the ocean to complete their mission.
Survival won’t be easy, as players must manage limited oxygen, navigate dark environments, and avoid hostile underwater creatures. Each expedition offers a different experience thanks to the game’s procedurally generated caves. Players can also choose their own pace, whether they prefer diving aggressively or exploring carefully while leaving markers along the way.
The game features an atmospheric soundtrack by award-winning composer Cedar Jones, known for work on Jetpack Joyride, helping bring its mysterious underwater world to life.
Speaking about the project, Luke Muscat shared:
“Feed the Deep is my first solo developed game, and was inspired by some of my all-time favourite indie classics; Spelunky and Dome Keeper “ Shared Luke Muscat. “I find procedural generation fascinating and really liked the idea of building something that could still surprise me while I am playing. More than once I jumped out of my skin while testing the game, despite knowing every single line of code! But the absolute best part is hearing stories from players about their time in Feed the Deep.”
With its eerie atmosphere and unpredictable expeditions, Feed the Deep could be an interesting choice for roguelike fans when it arrives in 2027 on consoles.
