Microsoft has announced the Xbox Nano Controller, a smaller, entry level take on the standard Xbox game controller; aimed at younger players or anyone preferring a controller with a smaller footprint.
It keeps the usual Xbox button layout but in a more compact body and connects over Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth across Xbox consoles, Windows PC, iOS and Android. Selected smart TVs are also supported.
Going against Xbox conventions; the Xbox Nano controller contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with USB-C cable and power bricks sold separately.
Despite being pitched as a starter pad, it isn't lacking any functionality; button mapping can be customised through the Xbox Accessories app and there's even a programmable Action Button you can assign to whatever you want.
The Xbox Nano controller costs $49.99 USD / £44.99 GBP and is available for pre-order with a shipping date of 4th November 2026.
