PlayStation has unveiled a new limited-edition PS5 controller celebrating the 30th anniversary of one of its longest-running racing franchises. The controller features a striking design inspired by the series’ automotive heritage and motorsport styling.
Announced by PlayStation on its official blog, the DualSense Wireless Controller – Gran Turismo Limited Edition comes with black racing stripes. It also has a carbon-fiber-style front plate, a 30-year celebration mark celebrating 30 years of The Real Driving Simulator, and the tagline “The Drive of Your Life.”
The number 30 is printed in a circle on the left side, along with the game’s logo. A mark below it recalls the series’ milestone of 100 million units sold worldwide by 2025. The right side has the association logo and the tagline. The design pays tribute to three decades of the flagship racing franchise.
When will the Gran Turismo 7 DualSense be released and what will it cost?
The Gran Turismo 7 DualSense Controller launches globally on December 10, 2026. However, the controller is available in limited quantities only, and its recommended retail prices are as follows:
- US: $84.99
- Japan: ¥12,480, including tax
- Europe: €84.99
- UK: £74.99
Sony notes that actual retailer prices may vary. Pre-orders for the same will begin on October 22, 2026, in participating markets. In the United States, players can order the controller directly through PlayStation Direct starting at 10 a.m. ET. Supplies will be limited. Players outside the U.S. can also pre-order the accessory from here on the specified date.
Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital, shared his thoughts on the anniversary accessory. “Thirty years ago, Gran Turismo began with a vision to share the beauty and joy of the automobile,” he said. “This commemorative controller celebrates the journey we have shared together, and I am deeply grateful to everyone whose passion continues to inspire us.”
The new controller joins Sony’s growing lineup of themed DualSense designs, which includes editions inspired by Marvel’s Wolverine, Ghost of Yōtei, Astro Bot, and more.
