Plants vs. Zombies 3: Evolved is bringing the Title Update 2.0, with major gameplay changes, two new events, redesigned menus, and more to the tower defense strategy title from Electronic Arts. The update adds new elemental conditions that affect plants and zombies during battles, changes how zombie waves arrive, and gives you more ways to plan your strategy.
The update also marks another step in the game’s soft launch, with Germany joining the existing test regions of Ireland and the Philippines.
Plants vs. Zombies 3: Evolved Title Update 2.0: Everything you need to know
New battle conditions
Title Update 2.0 introduces elemental conditions that make plants and zombies stronger or weaker against certain types of damage. Zombies can start a level with a condition or gain one by moving across specific tiles.

Soaked zombies take extra damage from electric plants, Cheesed zombies are more vulnerable to cold damage, and Slimed zombies take more damage from corrosive attacks. Only one condition can affect a plant or zombie at a time, so you will need to adjust your plant choices as the battle changes.
Zombie waves are now more responsive
You no longer have to wait as long for the next wave after clearing most of the zombies. The next wave now arrives once you defeat a set percentage of the current horde, although a timer will still trigger if you take too long to finish the remaining enemies.
Zombie formations have also been redesigned. Instead of spawning in semi-random groups, zombies can now attack in planned patterns, including V-formations and flanking attacks. Adventure Levels 1 to 50 now use this system, giving battles a more deliberate, puzzle-like feel.
The update also adds Log Booster, which lets you place land-based plants on water tiles using logs provided for each level. You cannot carry unused logs into the next level, so you will need to make the most of them.
New Events: Cards of Chaos and Disco Dance Marathon
Cards of Chaos gives you a pre-selected group of plants to fight through waves of zombies. After each wave, you choose cards that can provide useful perks, introduce hazards, or trigger unpredictable effects. Each run can play out differently, so you will need to adapt your strategy as new cards appear.

Completing event goals rewards you with the exclusive Controlled Chaos sticker set. The event’s unlock point is also being tested. Some players will gain access after Adventure Level 5, while others will need to reach Level 15.
Disco Dance Marathon puts you in a series of rhythm-themed battles against Disco Zombie. You must keep your winning streak going to climb the event leaderboard and earn better rewards. The longer you maintain your streak, the more you can earn.
The Almanac now features larger, clearer plant and zombie cards, with easier-to-read damage types, keywords, and gameplay descriptions. A new Plant Family Tree lets you check how plants merge and plan the combinations you want to unlock.
Stickers now have their own dedicated section instead of sharing space with the Almanac. The pre-battle screen also shows enemy types, hazards, recommended plant setups, and a mini-map so you can check upcoming challenges before entering a level. After winning, you can review your star score and rewards or restart the level directly from the results screen.
The developers are testing an option to skip video ads while still collecting daily placement rewards. For now, this is a limited test in Germany, which is scheduled to begin on October 14, 2026, and different versions are being tested before any decision is made about expanding it to other regions.
